Everyone lived.

I was rather happy about it, too.
So shepard looked like your avatar after that :p

I had Legion and Miranda die, I love LEgion, Dont care about her though.
Actually that's more the look on my face the first time I saw Miranda's "assets".

Legion and Mordin died on my first playthrough, in battle. Second playthrough, everyone lived.

I plan to make sure they all live on my next playthrough too. (I need one more, because I lost my saves ;_;)

Was I the only one who found it amusing that Tali's ENVIRONMENTAL suit couldn't handle a little bit of heat in some vents? What the heck was the point of that suit?! I imagine it makes even less sense if you send Legion ;)
Was she not loyal? Because she and Legion are the ones you're SUPPOSED to put through the vents, anyone else has a high chance of death.
Oh, she didn't die, just that what with her wearing a completely sealed, closed environment freaking space suit, I would have thought the bare minimum it could cope with would have been a bit of heat.

Though obviously I didn't send anyone else, so maybe it was a bit hotter in there than I was assuming and anybody else would have been parboiled by the time they got to the first door ;)
The "bit of heat" could kill the robot too. It was likely enough to melt right through the suit and then burn her to death.
Yeah, only done it with Tali, so no point of comparison. If you send anyone else, do they just spontaneously combust or something? Does Mordin even have a helmet?!

Four playthroughs, tried to save as many people as I could each time. The first three times Mordin died holding off the collector's the fourth time I sent him to escort my crew out instead of Grunt and everyone lived.

Used Legion for the tech stuff, Samara for the shield, and Garrus as the secondary leader. Mass Effect 2 is just about the only game where I actually liked every single character for one reason or another, so I really didn't want anyone to die.

Lost nobody (the second time, lost Mordin the first) and destroyed the Collector Base.

Call it blind idealism all you want, The Illusive Man cannot be trusted.
I decided to keep the Collector's base as a "fuck you" to BioWare because I had gone through the game doing nothing but Paragon choices and I was sick of it. It was hardly "moral choice", it was just blindly picking the Paragon choice for "+4 Paragon", so I chose the thing that made sense to me which was to keep the Collector's base and see what we could learn from it.

But noooooooo, everyone at the ship was like "That wasn't a good thing to do! But you're our commander, so I trust you." Even the loyal Cerberus recruits (Jacob, Miranda, etc...) went "The Illusive Man can't be trusted," which I thought was supreme BS.

EDIT: Oh, and I only got "+7 Renegade" points for keeping the base. I really have to wonder how much of an impact it's going to have in Mass Effect 3.

They'd probably have a heat stroke or something while their insides slowly boil.

I completed Mass Effect 2 today and I've lost 4 members of my team. Tali, Legion, Thane and Jack. Three died on ship while Tali died during mid fight. What's your experience?
YOu didn't upgrade your ship, most people werent loyal and you picked the wrong people for the wrong thing. Ive beaten the game over 16-17 times. You need to do EVERY SINGLE LOYALTY MISSION and then upgrade every possible upgrade for your ship (which is 3, shields, armor and the thaxis weapon cannon thing). ANd for the specalist tasks during the suicide mission, you need Legion as the tech guy who opens the doors, you need miranda leading the other team both times, Samara as your biotic escort/specialist and moridin to take your crew you rescued back. Sometimes the doctor will die for no reason so you just send him back when you find Dr Chakwas (spelling) Oh and do all of the loyalty missions, please!

edit, stick to one side paragon or renegade so you can get the loyalty of both miranda and jack and legion and tali. If you dont have enough, pick one and talk to the other later and persuade/intimade them to get them loayl, that will usually work.

I managed to save my whole team, and all the crew. From the sound of it, you had no ship upgrades, as others have mentioned, which always results in 3 characters dying.

The first time I played everyone survived I was very happy with myself.

It is too bad that Thane might die of his lung thing. I bet that because he is such a popular character that in Mass Effect 3 they will add a quest to cure him.

Zaeed (don't care) and Mordin (nooooooooo!) died.

Miranda nearly died in that bit after you defeat the human Reaper and you slide down, but Shep saved her. Dunno if its possible for someone to die in that bit or not, but it was squeaky-bum-time for sure.

I don't get why everyone is so obsessed with having everyone survive though. I've had one playthrough and left it at that - having perfect playthroughs destroys the point of the games. I don't want to know the opposite outcome of every choice.
That part happens no matter what you do.

The part shortly after that where you wake up and both of the people you brought with you are still down is a loyalty check. If they're not loyal, they're dead, otherwise they just get right up and go on.

first playthrough, i only lost Jacob... mainly because i was in a party while the plan was being formed in the ship, and Jacob volunteered for the tech-based mission. if id heard what he said, i wouldve realized that it was that kind of mission and it didnt suit him lol

the second playthrough, i lost nobody. but Jacob took a bullet to the gut and i was about to flip out if he died lol he ended up just shrugging it off. i literally said "Jacob, I swear to GOD if you screw me over again..."

Uh...Let's see....

Well, Thane got shot trying to close that big door after the section where he's in the pipe...Turns out he dies every time you put him there. Legion got carried away by a swarm of those little bug things(forget what they're actually called) which is dumb, cause he's a fucking robot. And I believe Miranda and Jack just kind of died at some point, without any context.

My first playthrough was not my best...

EDIT: OH RIGHT! And Zaheed died at some point...Yeah, for some reason that detail slipped my mind.

Everyone survived because I had fully upgraded my ship and used logic to determine who should do what...

Got everyone through on my first playthrough. Didn't use FAQs or anything.

Nobody dies on my watch.

Lost Mordin on my first playthrough, but now have both a Paragon and a Renegade save where I saved everyone + my crew, on the highest difficulties.
The trick to saving Mordin is apparently to always send him back with the crew, since he tends to die if left behind to take a stand.

Who to pick where is quite obvious IMO, the only real variable is who to take along as playables.

My first play through, I didn't use a guide, but I didn't loose any PCs during the mission - I always do side-quests before the main mission, so everyone was loyal and the ship had the maximum upgrades (and I had 400,000 left over of every element but Eezo), BUT Kelly and the crew got melted down, cause I was screwing around taking Legion on various side quests.

Second time, I knew not to wait and I lost no one.

I love doing side-quests, so I always get my whole crew loyal as fast as possible. Also, I like having the extra power and the new outfit.

Anyhow I didn't lose anyone. Perfection ftw!

Ninja'd!

I agree with you about Kaidan as well, but I wish I could have killed both of them. Ashley was a ***** and Kaidan was a prick.
