Well, at east it works. Basic functionality is starting to feel like more and more of a luxury rather than a necessity. I love BF4 but it was truely dishonourable to release it in the state it was. It took a year's worth of repairs to get the game in the state that it is. This is not even mentioning triple A games like Homefront which may never gain basic polish.

In recent memory Duke Nukem is objectively way more garbo. Even if we're confining this purely to mechanics.
I do think Infinite is mechanically pretty meh though honestly. The atmosphere and story are both solid and I kind of found myself wishing it the game itself was something a bit more conducive to exploration/dialog/interactions rather than a "kill the mans" where sometimes talking happens at you. It needed more moments like the train station IMO.

Warfighter's MP was amazing as the controls were very tight while having both a slide and a lean mechanic making gunfights far more dynamic than your standard FPS. Single player was absolute garbage.GrumbleGrump said:

I just got Daikatana off Steam for just ?1.49, and for that money it really has to be very awful indeed to not be worth it.
I expected all the bad press to be hyperbole that got more and more bloated throughout the years. I've heard people claim the horror stories are quite exaggerated, that the game is quite enjoyable once you get over its faults, and what game isn't perfect?
But holy shit, it's really incredibly bad. It's like they made it as shitty as they possibly could. How else to explain the obnoxious ticking loading bar? The 10+ minute opening cutscene that's just a warbling exposition that makes no sense? The horribly dated blocky graphics (that look like shit when compared to FPS that came out years earlier)? The terribly bright colours (fluo green water in a swamp?) that still manage to make everything look drab? The hordes of barely visible tiny enemies?
I can't get past the first half hour, so I've yet to experience the legendary dumb sidekicks. I'm not going to bother. Could've have bought me a small beer with that money.

Overrated I think is the word you're looking for. I certainly don't think it is (overrated or bad). It's one of my favorite games of all time, but I'm not going to argue that point. Point is how well-received the game is is kind of irrelevant to the overall quality and if you're going to bring up the fact that it got better reviews than X and Y then I think you mean it's overrated.
