Hitler was a pretty good leader, but most of the good things he did were a prelude for the bad things he did later on. Ofcourse, it has to be seen whether starting a war is a bad thing.
His good works and there evil intentions:
- Autobahn; highways throughout Germany to speed up transportation, but also transportation of his army.
- Volkswagen: A car for every German, but the factories could switch over to tank building mode in a matter of days. (Also, he set this up with a guy names Porsche, who later on started his own car company)
- Stopping the economic crisis; again, with staring up a war economy, he got everybody to work.
And so on.
You can't look at the good things the man did without realising that it was all part of a greater goal: starting and winning a war.
As a leader figure, Hitler was nearly perfect. Mostly because he surrounded himself with good advisers. For example, his secretary of propaganda, Goebbels, wrote most of his excellent speeches. We may not think much of those today, but back in the 30's, these were the bomb.
But: Much of the appeal Hitler had amongst normal disgruntled Germans was the fact that he was about to clear up the Jews (first plans to deport them to their own state Israël, then deport them to Madagascar, and in 1942 the Endlösung or Holocaust). So is it even possible to dislodge the leader figure of Hitler from the deeds the man has done?
