Now I know this is gonna be an old topic for everyone but frankly I want to address something about the whole gay marriage fuss now lets make this statement clear.

We don't want marriage of the Same Sex

It goes against the Bible and Gods word and its an insult

....

okay...first bullsh$$ no one gives two dicks about marriage %90 of married folk break up, and of they had kids that makes it even worse, %95 of couples that live together , aren't married, or hate each other so much they kill the other one of the party and it goes into a murder case blah blah, Also if you people Really cared about Gods way and the purity of marriage most of you a##hats wouldn't be screwing over 6 women a week or trying to get in someones pants at a night club or a bar and then I see sites in my spam " oh date cheating wives" yeah the fact something like that exist just kicks marriage right up the ass, and another thing that pisses me off you want to bring the bible into it.. 100% of the stupid masses don't' believe in a god that can't see and the government wants to claim to be there god when the government is as corrupt as it wants to be so you really thin they would care about what god thinks? nor do the people..

I think its more then that, others may have already came to this conclusion but if they have I haven't seen it so here it is.

its not the fact they want to get married because they love each other its the benefits you get with marriage health, medical, dental ,pensions everything a man and women would get in marriage they want , if they let it pass that thats more money the government has to give out and it doesn't want to give out more money, thats all it is.

okay there may be some out there " but we really want to get married " okay but why do you have to go in front of a church and say "I do" ...African slaves jumped over a broom and they were declared married so do you really want to get married in gods eyes? or do you really just want to be in the government system so you can get free insurance from the demi-god that is the government you all oh so worship. because in my case I say screw them all love who ever you want but don't think having your name in a system makes it legit and bringing god into was just a cover up.
because if this is really the case most of the gays and lesbins are no better then the retarded straights everyone has ulterior motives.

Think about it.

and just for the people who say I hate gays, I don't, everyone has a right to love who they want but saying you need to make it legit by getting married is kinda weak if you didn't get all that benefits when two are married would this really have been such a big issue?

forum question folks
" Would have the gay marriage been just as much as a fuss if you didn't get all the benefits with it?"

I get the feeling that your statistics aren't quite accurate...

Why shouldn't homosexual couples get all the same benefits as heterosexual married couples? I doubt the benefits of marriage are the first thing that comes into the decision making process for any couple who wish to marry, but that doesn't mean that some people should not be entitled to that benefit just because they're gay.

That's just dumb.

I feel like your trying to say something, but I'm not sure what it is...
I'm confused now.

Can someone please explain the message to me?

Marriage doesn't need to be performed in a church, by a priest, for it to be legit in the eyes of the government.

I think it would've been more of a fuss if the benefits hadn't come with it. And rightly so.

"Yes, we'll let you marry, but it isn't the same as the good ol' straight marriage."

I doubt that benefits are the first thing on their mind when it comes to the act, but taking away potential financial benefits to them because they'd be different is worse.

Just there I see that you don't understand the concept of marriage. Marriage is a legal contract that bind two people in the eye of the law. Religious marriage is only the ceremony that lead to the signing of the legal contract. When people ask for same sex marriage they are talking about the legal part, not the religious part. The ceremony don't have to be religious, and everybody is fine that churches don't want to marry same sex couples if it goes against their beliefs. Of course almost everybody that want to marry want to do so at least partially because of the legal right that it give you, like inheritance, hospital visits, insurance from one of the spouse that cover both, etc. but it usually have an emotional part too, and I. Some cases it involve religious faith, but it's optional

Yeah, there'd be a much bigger shitstorm a-brewing if Gay marriage didn't have the same benefits. For, you know, the logical reason that it means that gays are still being discriminated against.

Sure - this user has been doing topics on controversial matters, opening with long confusing rant/somethings and never ever bothering to reply. It was starting to fall into an almost weekly basis pattern but the last topic (something about Dante [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.399661-Wah-wahh-Wahh-DmC-ruinned-Dante-forever-w]) was just two days ago.

So, basically this

Marriage isn't necessarily a religious ceremony (it existed before Christianity for one thing, so you can pipe down on that argument). You're really suggesting that homosexuals are really just getting married for benefits? Really? People want their relationship to be treated as a legitimate relationship by the state, they want to be officially recognised, just like any other couple. To any non-homophobic person, there really is no reason why they shouldn't be treated equally. Instead of looking at why same-sex marriage should exist, think about why it shouldn't.

Goddamit. There's a whole three minutes of my life I'm not getting back.

And a note for people, The 'scapist introduced a rule a while back stating that you can't call people trolls. I've already got one warning to attest to that.

I found this very difficult to read, so I didn't bother.

I personally don't agree with marriage at all, considering it a waste of money and so forth, but there's no good reason why gay marriage should be any different to straight marriage.

Yeah, I know he's that guy that does most of the controversy stuff but it's kind of cathartic to basically just go "No, you're wrong" every once in a while.

So I can thank him for that I suppose.

Well I know he's been doing that.
I meant the meaning behind the rant, because I'm just curious.
Although now that I think about it, it probably is pointless to ask...

It goes against the Bible and Gods word
Here's a little fun fact for you: Most of the world doesn't give a fuck about your bible, or your gods word.

Even in the nations where your bible and it's god are the main religion are losing their grip on that. Predominantly due to higher levels of education and personal freedom leading to people realising that there are far more important things in our short time in this tiny corner of this infinite universe than listen to the ramblings of people who lived thousands of years ago.

If people had known about penicillin in Jesus' time, they'd have ignored him for the cracked loony he was.

I dont really buy into the whole marriage thing and plan to stay single.
However, i do think that with the current Japanese legal system, it would be better to be married if you were going to bet married.
Otherwise your child would be put down in the official government as a fatherless child and things get so complicated...
Same for insurance and inheritance stuff.

Other than that, I think that not even straight marriage should be allowed. LOL

I'm pretty sure the opposition against gay marriage is caused by plain old homophobia. No need to spin it any other way.

Well, I guess this rather accurately sums up my priorities. The inane homophobic rant mildly exasparated me, but that run-on sentence... that cut into my very soul.

God damn you for that.

Did I step into a dungeon? 'Cause... I... [small]I think I smell troll[/small]. But maybe not.

In which case... this is the easiest answer in the world.

The United States is not a theocracy. We do not have a national religion. We do have separation of church and state. No matter what your views are, on the most basic level, same sex marriage should be legal.
