My first game that I bought right at launch, full price with my own money was Mass Effect 2 (also Mass Effect 1 along with it) and yes I was very satisfied.

Pokemon Red? Oh hell yes it was worth the full price.

What helped is that I had bought my Gameboy Pocket a few months before, but as I was 9 years old or something I had no money to actually buy a game with it. Damn thing costed me everything I saved up and earned with chores and birthday money. And then a long while after that I had saved up enough again to actually buy Pokemon Red. And oh man, a game never felt so sweet.

The first game I remember buying with my own money was the original Sid Meier's Civilization (because I am old). It was absolutely worth it.

Hmm I honestly cannot remember the first game I bought in full with my own money.

Well, I'll have my first job soon so maybe I haven't really yet.

I never really bought games with my own money until I'd left home. Before that, I'd always just gotten games as gifts on my birthday or for Christmas, or sometimes as a reward for doing quite well at something that was a big deal (winning a piano festival, good grades, etc.).

As a result, the first game I bought with my own money wasn't until 2009 when I bought Assassin's Creed II. I bought it a week after release and it was worth every penny. While the next three games of the series were nothing special, ACII is was one of my favourite games of all time.

Also, I should mention that I never buy a game at full price unless I'm sure that I"ll enjoy it a lot. This means that I've usually tried it at a friend's house first, or simply seen lots of reviews and gameplay of it.

The first game I believe I had purchased with my hard earned cash was Majora's Mask. Not only was it the game purchase but I also had to get the Expansion pack for the N64 the doubled the ram from massive 4MB to and extreme 8MB. So it was somewhere around 120-140$. Great game and got more then enough time out of it but still felt a little ripped off by the expansion pack as I only ever got 1 other game(Perfect Dark) that used it and never really seen the big deal about it.

Really the expansion pack I believe is why no one would purchase me the game cause they knew it was a ridiculous price to pay for a game.

for me i would say it was the bards tale on tape. definitely worth it for all the "warrior has struck bandits and killed 99 of them" memories.. my groups of 6 characters vs almost 400? 4 or 5 turns at most :D

The first game I bought with my own money was Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction. Hell yeah that game was worth it, I still bring it out to play when I can.
