Day one sale for Watch Dogs? Man they must have little faith in the game if they're willing to do that. I mean sure, despite all logic a lot of people pre-ordered the game, but man it's almost like they are desperate to move copies. It's almost like the game wasn't actually that good...

Green Man Gaming I notice has a few day1 sales. I know they had one for Stick of Truth at 20% off or so, and that game was great (plus was an Ubisoft published title as well). Odds are it's to encourage early adoption while the hype is still up as opposed to an indication of quality or faith.

I was considering getting watch dogs since the price with coupon was fairly reasonable, but it wouldn't let me use it :/

Darn, and here I was hoping that Ubi's egotism had turned on them and cost them a significant number of sales, but that would be giving our community of gamers too much credit.

Yeah some of these retailers like GMG and Gamefly Digital often has day 1 sale to entice sale. But if the game becomes 50% off this holiday season on the Uplay Store... then we'll know how well the game really did.

I'll still wait for Xmas 2014 to pick up watch_dogs. Hoping for an arguably better deal then, with all of the dlc. Come on, GOTY!

$48, day 1? So basically what I use to pay for PC games brand new? If console users are wondering why we get 20% off day one is because there is no licensing to pay to publish on the PC platform.

I would have considered it if I wasn't waiting for goty and didn't hear news about Ubisoft fudging yet another PC port.

or its because its cheaper to release on PC and they know they are going to sell far more copies if they release it at lower price?
you know, doing the smart thing?

They want to improve sales numbers in the first few weeks as this is the most important time for publishers and investors.

The game looks ok but nothing special and IMO it does not look that much better than sleeping dogs and has major problems with objects popping in GTA 3 style ( as bad a objects being rendered after you crash into them or so i am told)and it has quite bad optimization issues.

I will pick it up later on when its on sale for £10 or something you know when they have finished fixing it , i have just picked up remember me for under £7 and that will keep me going until wildstar comes out :).

EDIT

And another thing, this game is also on xbone and PS4 right ? Well both are x86 so i mean how hard can it be to port it to pc all you have to do is put decent controls in all the APIs for adjusting the setting will already be implemented so you just need to make a menu for that and then blam PC port, its not like you are trying to port something written in cell or Power PC assembler over to PC.

It's funny that reviewers are raving about Watch Dogs. If metacritic is to be believed, gamers think the reviewers are full of it:
