from what I can see the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time has an enormous reputation for being one of the hardest, most frustrating, etc. dungeons in the game, in the zelda series, and in the world. HOWEVER I'm playing through Ocarina of Time now and so far it's the easiest temple I've experienced (forest and fire being the others.) DOES ANYONE AGREE

Water was more difficult for me the first time. Now that I know what I'm doing, I usually breeze through it.

are you sure you're not confusing the child water temple with the adult water temple? Because the adult one is much much harder i think.

I think it's because It was more maze-like than the other temples, meaning people easily got lost.

Yes, I agree.

I found Ocarina very tough in spots, but the Water Temple was fine. Just required thorough exploration and remembering where stuff was.

It wasn't hard to me...just as a kid I could never find the one key I needed. It just never existed...I've since developed a trick to get by that. And haven't had an issue since.

When i played it for the first time the Water Temple kicked my ass hard.

I wandered around the place for hours looking for ONE key, only to go into the tower for the millionth time, look down and notice "Hey, there is a door under that block".
Pissed me off SO MUCH.

that's the only spot in the temple I had trouble with
Yea, its just a big temple.
And playing it as a kid i didn't take the time to map out where i have been and look around for little details.
Now the only hard part is fighting the boss, which i still kinda easy once you get the hang of it.

Regardless of whether or not you found it difficult, you have to appreciate the fact that it is the most ill-designed of all the dungeons in the game, and one of the worst in existence.
It's needlessly long, ludicrously convoluted, repetetive, and boring. The soundtrack begins to drone after a time, and the temple gives you no direction in where or how to proceed at any given point.
That One Block killed my playthrough at least twice.

That was the same key that got me and it was the answer to all my bloody problems.
Looking back the animation of the block rising makes it seem all so obvious to.

Other than that I didn?t have any other troubles. Well apart from Dark Link who for some reason gave me all sorts of trouble. I tried doing it with the hammer but he just kept flipping out of the way and I could barley hit him. Eventually I gathered two magic potions and went in there with dins fire.

Oh man, once i noticed that something was under the block and i raised the water, the Block rising animation felt like it was TAUNTING me.
Saying "YO, i was here the whole time, the entire 3 hours dude!".
And as for Dark Link, i actually tried to fight him with just my sword and won, with less than 5 hearts left.
Iv only recently learned about Din's Fire.

It was my favourite temple, and I got stuck quite a lot, when first playing it, but never for long, so it had a lot of moments where I succeeded in figuring something out.

I also recall it being logical, as long as you remembered what was on what level.
If I recall correctly, it had one kinda BS thing about it, though, and that was the hookshot. You already had one, so you'd naturally try to use it at the targets, and when you weren't close enough, you'd assume you needed to find a new place to try, instead of giving up and returning there when you had the longer one.

The forest temple was the one I had most trouble with, for some really stupid reason. I can't remember why, but I got stuck there for a long time, due to not noticing some thing that was really obvious in hindsight.

The boss was for me one of the easiest in the game. Too easy, in fact, as when first trying it, I won with no difficulty at all, and it was actually bit of a letdown.
