WBC Pickets my High School

We've all known they're crazy, but usually they've had some sort of a reason for their protests, however twisted they may be. This time, however, I don't see one.

I don't actually go to this school (I'm in private school), but if I was in the public school system, this is where I'd be going. The school hasn't done anything as far as I've heard. The worst part is that it's located right next to the main entrance of the Universal Studios theme parks. This could possibly cause a bad reputation for the parks to be spread, putting a dent in our tourism-driven economy. I don't see the rationale behind this. Thoughts?

EDIT: Well, they've apparently got a few other protests coming up in my city, as well as in Florida. They're headed to the Kennedy Space Center (?), and I heard on an anti-WBC site that they're also headed to Bishop Moore High, which is a Catholic school.

You're first mistake is the "Oh, they're crazy why bother figuring them out" point of view. They have a very specific agenda; Pissing people off till someone physically assaults one of them, then they sue and take the money to fund the spread of their pretend Jesus-babble. That's at the heart of protesting anything that will really make them look like fucks.

My problem with that is that the school hasn't done anything. It doesn't have a reputation for having a large homosexual population, nor is its principal a pervert. This seems very surreal to me.

They buy plane tickets to go picket a funeral or something and while they are there go to local churches and schools, happened in Richmond a year ago. They have one real target and the rest is probably chosen from random.

Anybody in town attempting to hold a counter protest or perhaps piss the WBC while they are protesting?

Was there some sort of scandal involving students or teachers that you might not know about. They mention something about teaching or not teaching in your link, maybe they decided to not teach creationism or something else religion related? I'm just taking some wild guesses here.

I'm not sure, I first heard of this about five minutes before I posted the thread. I'm sure there'll definitely be some people though.

I really hope they get what's coming to them. Not death or anything, but they deserve something.

Anon did take down thier sites a while back after a WBC rep repeatedly insulted an Anon rep during a live interview.

Obviously this has subsided now.

Perhaps someone will find grounds on which to sue them. It could happen the way they keep going.

EDIT: I read up on thier wikipedia page, if the school in question has a catholic history then it would be well within thier sights.
