"You still do not trust me, Jio? Even Dromaeus accepted me before the end." She said coolly. "And I went back to check on the people I fed on. They did not turn. I am not the monster that you obviously think I am."

"I can still see the blood pumping through your veins, as though you were prey. I still have control of my mind though. I will not attack anyone openly for fear of harming them as well as myself, and when I can feed at ease, as I have been doing in the outlying villages, I can take what I need to remain in control, no more. As long as we are in a place where I can get blood every couple of days, I will be able to control myself."

Geralt sees a light appear at the top of the tree, his medallion reacts. A way out. He begins climbing and reaches the portal but as he clambers through he drops his Silver Sword. He appears where he was before beside the ship and reaches down to grab the sword but its too late. "Fuck." He says rubbing the back of his neck.
