The premise is simple.
Your character is your avatar.
They have the same powers, personality etc.

RULES!
You have to contribute to the plot in some way.
Either by adding to a conversation, fighting, or getting past obstacles (picking locks, hijacking cars etc).
You control your character ONLY.
You can't use other players' characters. UNLESS: the character is plot-necessary, but the player is unable to post (must act in character. If you are in this position, it would help if you asked another player beforehand to take over your character).
No Over-Powered Characters
-Characters can't instant-kill other characters (killing should be pre-decided)
-Characters should be weakened if they attack too often
-Characters shouldn't have too many different combat moves.
And please try to explain powers simply. You may be a genius on your character's universe, but other players mightn't have even HEARD of them before.
Certain players will have certain roles
Every game needs a villain. Therefore, we will need a villain. The villain needs to have a plot vaguely lined out, and should guide the other players (either by accidentally leaving clues, letting them spy on them or even pretending to be a good guy (I'm looking at you, Diablo1099).
Villains (and the good-guys) should be in-character. Jesus shouldn't be causing nuclear war (I don't think you should be RPing as Jesus anyway, but still...) and Freddie Krueger shouldn't be leading the charge against him.
No excessive posts
Just saying
"Dave opened the door and turned on his torch. He looked around and saw the desk, with the plans on it."
is good enough. We don't need a few paragraphs about his thoughts and feelings, and an accurate description of the room and plans.
One character
This is a strange rule. If your avatar shows a crowd of people, pick one to play as. However;
-You can have a sidekick. Batman has Robin, Sherlock has Watson. Your character can have their Robin.
-You can call in other characters to either add to the plot or help in combat (though try to keep it within the OP rule).
-Your character can have minions. Your character may have a vast network of homeless people, or government agents, or soldiers at their disposal. They should be kept to a strictly 'spy' or 'mook' level. We shouldn't be having a police officer hunting and killing the Big Bad (unless you're RPing a police officer).

This RP is probably going to contain at least minor spoilers from character universes, like references to who can live or die in Mass Effect or what happens in the most recent Bourne book or film. Please don't react negatively: it might affect the character in a big way, and you could end up confused as to why the character is acting 'out of character' from your perspective.
But that's not what I want to talk about. USE SPOILER TAGS FOR VIDEOS, PICTURES (Unless they're small) AND LARGE AMOUNTS OF TEXT!

Joe looks around after the blur of 105km passing by in mere microseconds. "Is it inside or underground?" Joe asked.
As the group gazed upon the machine, their perception of the world changed due to the large amounts of Warp energy spilling from it. It looked like they were no longer on earth, but in a rift between dimensions.
From the Warp energy, a glowing humanoid creature stepped forth.
"Begone, mortals!" It bellowed.

I wondered what the group was doing, i decided it wasnt important and sat on the chair ontopof the skyscraper, waiting for the meteor shower to end the world, i realised it would be soon as i could sense it. i wasnt sure how but i knew the end was nigh. i cracked open a bottle of whiskey and had a little drink, i smoked some weed, i resoned that if your gonna go out, go out smiling
"Um hi! We're just travelling Warp generator inspectors. We'd like to inspect your warp generator!" Joe shouted to the glowing creature.
"You will be condemned to torment beyond anything you could have ever dreamed of inflicting on your victims for the things you have done." Dromaeus snarled pacing back and forth in front of Regulus. "You think Deadside was bad when you were there as a living being? You will be stripped of all your power and cast down as any other whose actions earn them that fate."
"...Hey Drom. You're looking good for a dead guy." Four said as she gave Dromaeus a sheepish wave to avoid burning her hand.
Rose reached a hill from where she could see the Dam. She already knew it would be pointless to try something from that distance, so she ran down the hill and continued on to the Dam.

The group is moving through physical space at the same distance per second, but are moving through time twenty times faster (they're moving twenty times faster).
Only his pupils and iris markings are a clock set to two minutes to midnight.
