Seeing that it had finally reached that time when most people started mysteriously passing out, Sniper followed Knife over to the fire he was making. He sat down with a sigh. "That was quite a day..." he said as he pulled out his kukri and started sharpening it.
"So, Laura...how do you know Charlotte is alive? Are we just assuming like we assumed she was dead?" Sniper asked the girl as he kept his eyes focused of his blade.
Laura dematerializes Weissritter and sits down near the fire. She looks distracted and distant. "That Jack person brought me to some Soul keeping place for all the dead. Charlotte was not there...."
Laura hesitates for a second. "But this just makes it worse. Who knows what type of torture that she could have been through when we were running about? It was my fault for us splitting up at the museum. If I wasn't as careless...."

"Well...it's not like you could control what she did and didn't do...especial not in the condition she was in. Besides, why would the be torturing her? As far as I know, she doesn't have any secret information or anything." Sniper replied after some thought. The idea that Kessler could be after her IS suit crossed his mind, but he decided it would be best not to mention that. He was trying to make the girl feel better after all.
Laura stares into the fire.
"There are just some people in the world that just want to see it suffer. They have no remorse, no conscience, no nothing. They do it, because they can. Especially this Sasha girl that Kessler has. I think she's been trying to break me, getting into my mind... Just for her own enjoyment. And at this point, I haven't a clue what will happen next. Will Charlotte ever forgive me for this? I just don't know..."
Sniper was starting to feel quite uncomfortable now. He was simply not used to being around people for such extended periods of time, let alone trying to comfort them. But he knew he should at least try, so he continued to say what came naturally. "I won't deny that there are people like that. I've met quite a few, but the good thing is nobody likes those people, so they don't last very long...at least in my experience..." He paused. "You're worried about whether Charlotte will forgive you? Well, just based on what I know about her, she doesn't seem like the type to hold a grudge. But...you know her better than I do, so you'll have to answer that question your self: do you think she'll forgive you?"
Laura opens up a file on her IS materialization device. A soft piano piece plays in the background.
"She was always the gentle one out of 5 IS pilots in Ichika's harem; never doing things out of jealousy or hate. She was just happy to be. Even when we fought each other in the IS tournament, and I hated her for her inferior IS, she treated me the same: with kindness and respect. I would hope so Sniper, I really do... But with whatever Sasha's been doing to me must be bare minimal to what she could be doing to her....."

As the music ended, Laura looked back into the skies. What was the machine that flew over after she obliterated the Lourve Museum?
Sighing Laura laid on the ground, the fire soothing her.
"After Kessler" started Laura. "I think I might retire from battlefield operations Schwarzer Hase. We have enough good people for that. Plus, I'm starting to feel that war is all I've ever know. Would be nice for a change-up."

Knife listens, munching away on a vegimite sandwich he seemed to have produced from nowhere. As the Sniper and Laura fall asleep, Knife stands, and beguins to walk around the area everyone seems to be resting in.

Varger had become increasingly absorbed by the information he had assimilated. Even after assimilating only 5 or so people he had still not read through all information that he had acquired. He had been distant to all else, reading through the hologram and marvelling over his capacity to store information.
