Berethor stopped Jio by grabbing his arm with his left hand. "No. You are not...just like Charlotte and Laura. There is only on solution to this whole mess, and it is my death...but none of you will except that fact." He stared intently at Jio. His features were haggard, with dark circle forming around his eyes. "I wish it were that simple, EMily, I really do...but it just isn't..." he said to the girl.

The way things are going...you may not have much time...this would be Berethor's third suicide attempt in as many days after all...
