OoC: Actually both. Early Jio had no real friends (minus the talking wolf that helped him get stronger). And he didn't really want any. He initially traveled with Ruby as her bodyguard. Later, even when they became friends, he continued to claim he was her bodyguard and she would just have to pay him when she got money. Honestly, if he gave into Satan he would have been pretty much exactly like Varger here. And, of course, trying to befriend the person who refuses his friendship is "naive and childish".VeneratedWulfen93 said:

EMily got out a good portion of plates and spread them out.

She got up to Jio as she filled his plate with pasta. "Perhaps Varger was right about not treating him like a human. Maybe we should have seen his side and let him have it..."

Berethor's fist froze against the wall after Laguna addressed him. He hadn't realized how angry he was. Red mist was rapidly building up around his arm. "No." he said through clenched teeth.
Four had gotten a great big plate of alfredo pasta from EMily and Winona. Half way through eating she thought, Wait a minute. It feels like there's something I'm forgetting. She continues eating. Only a few seconds after finishing she remembers, Damn! I nearly forgot about the thing with Charlotte and Laura! She hurries back to where Mia, Charlotte and Laura were.
Laguna realised how this whole ordeal was affecting Berethor. "I understand that it's frustrating you didnt get to finish him, but if we had killed him... All that tech, he probably had a backup plan somewhere."
