OOC: Would you condemn me if I said some aspects of the past were better? Compare modern Greece to the Greece of 2000 years ago, compare Italy to the Rome of that same period. We've regressed quite a bit in some places. I stay in my little bubble, unhealthy as it is apparently. Reality is boring so I play games, read/ write fantasy, get drunk etc as much as possible to forget the drabness of it all. Escapism.

OOC: @Ven I'm not going to condemn you for having an opinion that originates from your humanity. Like I said before, to each is own. Reality can be a drab place to be in. And I can totally see where you're coming from. For me, reality is something that is more of a mystery than what meets the eye. Albeit fantasy is a good place to be in for when reality gets you down.

OOC: Christ, don't even talk to me about modern Greece. I've been to Athens and its most depressing fucking country I've ever been to. I wouldn't say that the lack of mystery is a significant driving force to that though. As for escapism, yeah its great, because a lot of the real world really is shit. Personally I prefer the likes of Mass Effect rather than the swords and sorcery scene, but it has much the same appeal to it.
