Although Regulus' arm was severed, the gem clings to Jio's head. The tendrils were no longer vissible as they were deep inside Jio's mind, trying to pull his soul out of his body.
The arm Tanner trew away disappeared in a cloud of pitch-black smoke and reformed on Regulus.
