AEanna grinned at Laguna's response, then winced at the sound of the hideous shriek that rang out over the seven hills of Rome.

Sara and her sisters walked over to AEanna.
All three clamped their ears from the screech.

Sara whispered to AEanna.
<color=brown>"Now I have finally seen the true face of these Marines. Shouting words like 'heretics', 'witches', 'holy', 'unclean'.... sounds like they came from the dark ages of the human race."

Lysandros turned his head. "By the Emperor..." he muttered at the sound. He heard everything that was said also, the auto-senses in the helmet picked it up. He suppressed his anger, a few days ago he would have flown into a rage.
"Indeed, their folly is somewhat worrying at times." AEanna whispered back. "Even in Tamriel we have a more enlightened attitude than that. Well, the well educated do anyway, I cannot speak for the peasants, drunkards and thugs. Even when I tried to heal their wounds they accused me of being a bloody witch!"
Four awoke with a start and fell out of her chair as she heard the screech from inside Tanner's ship. "Agh, what the hell was that?" She groaned to herself as she stood up.
Rose covered her ears at the sound of the screech.

"We do not mean to talk behind your back. But it does not change the facts. You behave like a maddened zealot, and it is rather worrying. Such rigid adherence to an intolerant doctrine has cost my race and my family dearly in the past and cost the humans of Tamriel an even greater price, and I do not wish to see it happen here as well."

Lysandros simply nodded solemly. "Blessed is the mind too small for doubt. I am a Space Marine. The Codex Astartes taught me how to regard myself with honour in battle and to venerate the Emperor with my actions. My time in the scout company showed me my enemy and they were legion. Aliens, Heretics, Physkers. I surrendered my humanity, my freedom to the god emperor and my body was forged into a weapon of war. Space Marines die...to stave off the Alien from the outside and the heretic from the inside."

OOC: Slenn that is the exact reason I love Space Marines so much. I have top comment on a youtube video named "They are my Space Marines" saying "Space Marines surrender the very thing they are sworn to defend. No sacrifice is greater than a that of a Space Marine." They condemn themselves to centuries of warfare, with no chance of reprieve except death. Even then some heroes are interred in Dreadnoughts, machines piloted by near-dead heroes so that even in death they can still serve. Most Dreadnoughts are millenia old.
