Rose cocked her head at Austin, not getting his reference at all. "I'll uh, just take your word for it." She said to him.

Asha seemed to calm down greatly as she kissed Gerry back, losing herself and forgetting all about what was bothering her for the moment.

So they used telescopes to look deep into space for stellar remnants, background radiation from early celestial bodies. I know it may sound alien to you but, the light traveling from those distant stars traveled for 13.75 billion years before it would reach the Earth. Meaning those telescopes were viewing the universe as it was 13.75 billion years into the past. In a sense, the telescope was like a time machine that could view the past by looking very far away."

Riou chuckled. "That's not quite what I meant, Sara. I was speaking about things much more terrestrial." He smiled. "Though that is an interesting fact to know." He looks up at the night sky. "So, I'm looking on the past, at this very moment, eh?"

The few members of the kult of speed arrived in their trukks with Mr Nailbrain and the Ork weirdboys.

Riou looks at Austin. "If you don't want the past to repeat itself, you need to learn from it. Find out what they did wrong and find a better way. That's the only thing you can do."

Sara chuckled back.

A lightyear is the distance light travels in one year. Vega, that star up there is 25 lightyears away. So by looking at Vega, you are seeing that star as it was 25 years into the past. Light travels incredibly fast. Even by looking at your hand you're looking at fractions of a second into the past."

<color=darkgreen>"Riou's right, Austin. You can't burden yourself with such a thing. You'll only break and crumble under that kind of stress. Human society lasts long in my universe because they were able to learn from their past."

"Yeah, I don't think I could keep going if I was just on my own. Then again I don't think I'd have even just survived as long as I have if I were on my own." Four said to Winter. She noticed Winter inching closer and started moving to meet her halfway.
She saw Mia wake up and sat up and turned to face her. "How'd you sleep?" She asked her.

Asha hugged Gerry tighter and started to caress his back.

Rose didn't know how to add to the conversation at all, so she just idly kicked at the dirt.

I see... It makes one feel so tiny." Riou said looking up at the stars, before looking back at Austin. "If only you can cause you to break, find a reason not to break. Find something to protect. Find friends. Family. If you have a reason to go on, you won't ever break. You can't afford it."
