Sephiroth paused. He had never been given any reason to suspect that there was a God; the comment seemed odd. Why should anybody assume that such a thing existed? Perhaps this world was different to his, where people were experimented on for the sake of sating curiosity, children starved and died, and hatred was enough to literally end the world.
'You don't deal with the spiritual, and yet you were the only one to know what this soul was,' he murmured. 'Almost ironic.'

He pauses to allow that to sink in, before addressing the other statement. "I only knew of this spirit because I had a great deal of interaction with 'her' brethren two years ago."
