"Then you a I have diferent goals." Gabranth said as he turned around and began walking back to the Atomos. Just as well. It would be a disgrace to alow a cur such as her to befoul my ship. At least the other two commoners had some air of class about them.

"Well goodbye to you too then. And good luck with getting that stick out of your rear!" Toph shouted to Gabranth as he left. She wandered off in the other direction, eventually finding where Kayle was resting. She sat down near Kayle and flicked her hands, caused some slabs of stone to burst out of the ground and form a tent for her to sleep under.

Gabranth didn't respond to Toph. Damnable peasant. Were these normal circumstances, I would have her arrested.
He entered the Atomos and took a sat down in the pilot's seath once again. He placed his swords besides the chair and fell asleep.

OoC: And with that, I'm off.

OOC: I tried replying to stuff last night but my internet effed up.
40k and OP:
Aspects of the universe are OP (Forge World models or Imperial Armour models) and everything isn't as stupidily OP as everyone thinks. Who wants to play a board game where every faction is OP?
Mechanics:
The mechanics of 40k is not to have ungodly OP armies duking it out, any gameplay of Dawn of War will show you that. No, the actual main element and mechanic in the game is FUN suprisingly. Every codex, every rule, every errata all designed to make the game flow and fun to play. It isn't grim and depressed nerds sitting in a darkened games shop throwing dice. Its friendly and competitave people laughing their asses off whenever something funny happens.
@Salty Yes I was hateful. So hateful of your characters reaction and it stung like a barb. Good will doesn't belong in the 21st century I just wanted some attention.
@Random 40k fleet vs Reapers would be an interesting match (Apart from the fact that it has never clearly defined how strong reapers shields are.) Also Mass Effect is set a couple of hundred years in the future and yet the technlogy there is consistently more advancement than current Imperial tech.
@ALL I've been here since page 1 of the first thread. Its so hard to interact with everyones characters now because there is this wall of plot and situations that are impregnable to not only new players but those who missed out on the events. If you can honestly tell me the last character I had that knew anyones character well then I would be impressed. This brief plot that I brought out was obviously made with previous observations to other 40k attempts, the whole thing was set up to be like WoW instances, snippets and morsels at a time since I know too much 40k is overwhelming.

OoC: @Rosh So how many bloody mechs are there? Cause they just anhilated a huge part of the human population.
I really feel that the League of Evil is simply too powerful. They stick together, we have no clue where they are, and they can destroy most of the world in the blink of an eye!

OOC: @Kirke Hmmm, so its okay for Rosh to do that but if I want people to occasionally fight Tyranids its all 'It dwarfs everything else that is goinon' right.....

OOC: @Kirke this time I put the threat in the distance, it will never touch earth. Its just a backdrop to occasionally engage in various missions when the group has down time. Rooting out a Genestealer cult has been crossed off the list since all governments in the world just exploded but I still have the likes of hunting down native or alien fauna for a neuro toxin to destroy the hive fleet, killing important Tyranid Leader beasts, assisting important Eldar fighters. I basically modelled it after the Dawn of War 2 campaign. 3 Main objectives to destroy the Hive Fleet and a number of Secondary objectives to slow its progress or better prepare for it.

OoC: @Ven That sounds like a good plot, but I'd wait with implementing it. We have too many overlooming threats, so one more is just one more on the list.

Overall, I don't like when universes merge. Rosh's mechs have teleported from another dimension to get here, and there is a similar thing going on with your 40K stuff. In my oppinion, a good way to do it is how Nailik has done it with Kefka. That way, it isn't the enemies that are spilling over, but the technology. Granted, I don't know where the mechs will have for backstory, but I doubt William has the resources to build a couple of million of them.

OOC: @Kirke it depends for me. I've never played a lone 40k character because when you read the Eldar codex all of their characters would have some great purpose driving them or some special mission. Bringing stuff over is nessacary to counter all the ridiculousness of everyone else, as you saw when Evilington's completely human soldiers with 21st century gear went up against superhumans and warrior mystics. Also having just echnology spill over wouldn't work. Tyranids don't use technology and Eldar technology requires a physcic pulse to fire.

OoC: @Ven It has to be done elegantly, otherwise it can very easily become obnoxious. I have several times been tempted to bring in more Tribes stuff, like Bioderms, but not only would they be quite silly powerful (Two or three recruits could take down Dio), but they would also be difficult to understand for anyone not somewhat familiar with Tribes lore.

OoC: @Ven I understand that, but I'd simply wait a while. If you try to do it now, it'll probably be ignored or forgotten.

OOC: @Kirke I know @Salty won't do it and I doubt many others will. This is mainly because of how no-one is interested enough to approach Daniel. He is a recluse yes but that means he doesn't like instigating conversation, if someone talks to him he will reply out of politeness. I just always seem to get drowned out no matter what. It would be out of character for him to willingly engage in phatic conversation and so people just glance over him and go 'meh' even when he was revealed as a dragon.

OoC: @Ven One has to take action if they want to get their characters more established. I think this is because having dialoge with an established charater is more enjoyable than with a new one, so people tend to favor conversation with the older charaters.

OOC: @Kirke and thus begins the cycle where new characters are just ground out. Its like that holiday bus game show, they always vote off the new couple because they like being with the familiar. Its unfair that characters have to be in your face and constantly talking to get noticed, the silence and distance of Daniel should speak more than his words but the only character that cares about him is Erica and he knows James a bit. Everyone else just knows his name and I've had him for a month.

OoC: @Ven Thing is, the human brain isn't fair, and will choose something old and well known over something new.

OOC: @Kirke normally I'd say fair enough but when its not only shutting out new players but veteran players then there is a definite problem.
