"At this point, I was a member of Luca's inner circle. One of his lieutenants. After the failure of Solon Jhee against a small force, Luca was furious, and had him beheaded, but asked for someone to try to take the city of Greenhill. I volunteered for the assignment. I even requested to only be sent with a small force of 5,000 troops and the captured Muse soldiers. Taking the advice of a brilliant strategist I had recruited, Leon Silverberg, I had managed to capture the cit with the fewest possible casualties to both sides, by allowing the Muse soldiers to enter and keep the city under siege without attacking. It hurt their morale, but spared countless lives on both sides." Jowy continued.
"Later, Riou arrived to find and free the town's mayor, Teresa. Now, while I was officially seeking her, I met Riou on the way out and allowed him to pass even lying to a man who was my subordinate, my former captain Rowd, in case you were wondering, to facilitate their escape. He didn't believe me, but fortunately two other men, Culgan and Seed, came and lied on my behalf, even telling me that they were aware of my plans and wanted to help me in my goals."
Once more, his tone gets a little nervous as he continues. "For my success, Luca asked me what I wanted as a reward. I asked for his sister, Jilia's, hand in marriage. As you might imagine, this displeased him, but when I told him it would facilitate his ascension to the throne, he was all too thrilled. And taking advantage of the Wedding ceremony I helped Luca assassinate the King, his father, Agares Blight. I did so by poisoning my own blood and drinking antitoxin. You see, a part of the ceremony for this would include me cutting my hand and bleeding into a glass of wine, which the king would then drink. As a result, Luca became King, and I was the next in line for the throne."
