Katniss was blown back and had a bruise on her jaw. Katniss saw gaps in the rock. Katniss reached for her knife and slit a arm off. It quickly regained it. Katniss was scared so slid around it and ran for her live. She was back in arms lenght of the chicken and the earth thing was only a arm lenght too.

The earth elemental grabbed Katniss by the arm as she tried to run by and tossed her back towards the parking lot. Then it seemed to dissipate into the ground. It's hands came up and grabbed Katniss by the ankles, holding her in place while the chicken continued to escape.

@Jag: The chicken is running away on a horse, it's way more than an arm's length away.

OoC: I think we should just let the chicken escape on account of the fact that that seems to be what the plot requires.
