"Yes... A place devoid of human life... Isn't it beautiful?! Soon, the entire world will look like this! ...Just less icy." Kefka exclaimed, his tone going from exstattic to rather mellow at the end. "Anyway! Without further ado, let me show you what's so important about this place!"
Kefka raised his arms in the air and his hands began glowing with a shimmering pale blue light. Kefka grinned as several beams of similary coloured light decended from the skies above, shining down on both the sea and land in a circle. Kefka then lowered his arms and slowly began to raise them again, as if he was lifting something.
The ship began shaking as the waters went from dead-calm to violent. Something was moving. "Hahahahah! Oh! How I've waited for this...!"

If he sees the memories, you will begin the process of restoring your friendship, and he will know that there is nothing else between you before the feelings ever arise. If he does not learn of your past, then everything that you have done together will remain lost to him. That would be a tragic waste."
