Once everyone left, Erica locked the door to her quarters so that some rude people wouldn't just barged in anymore and headed to the exit of the Orphan.

When I still had my powers, my clothes got torn to shreds all the time! Granted, I wasn't exactly careful, but still." Erica said to Tophat.

The door doesn't respond to Doctor Com. Because it is a door. If the door were sentient, it would think that Doctor Com was acting quite silly right now. Of course if the door were sentient, Doc's actions could be considered somewhat less silly.
