She said, mostly to herself since Mia couldn't hear her. She picked Mia and and took her out of the Big Orphan to her own ship. She saw the battle and just kept her head down and moved as quickly as possible to avoid getting hit in the crossfire for now. She put Mia in a room in her own ship and locked her inside.

...Have not not been paying attention to how Gerry's spirit bow works? It's a magic thing that does no physical damage, but can slow of stop it's target and it always hits its intended target.
