Kefka cast a Blizzaga spell on Kuma, encasing its arms in a pillar of ice. Once the ice shattered, so did Kuma's pretrified limbs.
After falling to the ground, Kefka dusts himself off and walked over to the organizer.
"So only the finals left, eh?
Good, good. Hopefully they'll prove a greater challange."

"Could you carry her?" Erica asked Lambda, still dragging Grace's limp body down the stairs.

Four woke up with a start. She started sweating and panting to try and catch her breath. Then she curled up and started shuddering.
