The ships's laser turrets picked up on the small boy. They aimed at him and were ready to fire if he got any closer. Because they were automated turrets, they gave approximately zero fucks about how injured their target already was.

Not really godmodding, is it?

It...would not matter if the switched places...if Silver is standing in the same place as Shadow, he would still be in the barrier.
