With a number of saplings cut down, James took a number of vines and tied them between two sturdier trees. He then drew his boot knife and began to peel strips of bark from the saplings, weaving them between the vines to make a serviceable, if not quite comfortable hammock, high enough off the ground to keep away from any snakes and insects. With this done, he erected a hasty canopy over it, to keep rain and leaves off. When he was finished he sat down in the hammock and glanced over at the ship, his eyes narrowed somewhat suspiciously, before unholstering his P90 and laying it across his chest, ready to use in a heartbeat if he needed to. Laying back, he closed his eyes.
