I look at Makoto seriously. "If there is one thing that life has taught me, its that people and history never forget. There is always one person that will continue to see your past, and force it back into your face again, despite how hard you try to erase it. Whatever happened in the past will always haunt you. Just like the Vanguards and Wardens, heroes in the world end up Forgotten."
I look away. "There is only one group of Vanguards that sacrificed it all, and you know what happened to them? One was nearly killed, another turned out to be a spy and last one died."
