OoC: @Outis The difference is @Nailik is actually good at writing dark scenes, lovable characters, and tradegy. I can only write mentors and humour, and even then I'm kinda losing my touch there. Anyway, I got dinner in ten, and the dinner will take about 20-to-50 minutes, but after that Gerry and Makoto can talk.

With their weapons locked together, James pushed forward, his slightly greater mass and substantially greater power allowing him to drive Tophat backwards with ease. As he did so, he happened to catch a glimpse of Erica, not looking any appier than the last few days.
Man, I wonder what's wrong with her. Seems like a totally different person than the one I met that first time.

James stumbled as Tophat kicked his knee, rolling to one side as he was unable to block effectively.
"I'll hold you to it. Argh, nice one." Recovering, he lashed out with his right foot, the pain from the kick already gone, and followed up with a quick feint at Tophat's shoulder, then a full strength, two handed blow to the opposite shoulder, leading with the side of the hook to minimise the damage if it connected.

OOC: A quick google search has revealed that I am taller than Chuck Norris. That's quite a pleasant useless fact.

Tophat jumped back from James kick, then blocked the blow, holding one hand on the blade and one on the handle. It staggered back a couple meters from the force of the blow.
