James could see the training was starting to take its toll on Daniel, and when he attacked more slowly than before, James reached up with his left hand and blocked the flat of Daniel's blade with his elbow.
"Right, try not to overexert yourself by attacking futilely. Lets focus on defending. It takes much more reflexes, but it actually takes a lot less energy. The key is to keep moving about, don't let the opponent crowd you. If he has to chase after you, he can get frustrated, and might overextend himself, giving you the chance to counterattack easily. When just dodging isn't enough, a simple flick of your sword could misdirect his attack. Lets try it." James said, before taking a step back and preparing to attack.
