"How did this happen?" she asked as she healed Austin. As Austine was being healed, he felt like small needles were being lightly pressed against his skin, not painfully, but rather uncomfortably.

Austin continued frowning. "Close Quarters Combat training with Winter. I wasn't in the full mindset of it... And I got punished for it." He starts trying to stretch his joints by rolling them, but the feeling from the healing wasn't helping so he eventually stopped.

Erica looked up at James, but quickly looked down again. She found his scorched face hard to look at.
"You're kidding, right? I messed up bigtime. I was nothing but dead weight!" She said, noticeably angry with herself.

Austin sighed at Makoto and Grace.

"Winter always has been a hard teacher back in our Universe. Kind, cunning and brave. She teaches us how to fight, how to live, how to survive if we are alone. Sometimes those lessons have a price with failure, and I got hit with the full tax of it."

He looks away. "We are practically the same. After the Crusaders saw that Winter's abilities as an assassin were a success, they used to me to mirror those exact abilities. And experiences.... Much of my life is similar to her own."

@Gear: Agreed.
@Slenn: Thats why there is the Void. Its technology gaining some strange magic, but its not really magic. The combine conscience is slightly based from the NewTypes from Gundam, but the gravity/elemental powers are based on messed around with Universal constants such as Newtons law of gravitation between two objects or even the melting point of different metals and what not.

@berk i dont know, fucked up sleep cycle, freakin tests every other day, fuckin busy life, keyboard problems, homework not to mention the humid weather, and the fuckin heat (its hot for the uk..well its 22oc so...uk isnt that hot of a place) and i have been feelin pretty ill n shit, and have had a headache. im [retty fuckin xhausted, and anyway, that joel shit esterday, that was tribly, not me, you guys said fuck it, just le t him do his shit, and i was all like, whatever, i realy cant be bothere either way.

@berk eh, more like quickly finishing some GCSE's also i added... its also rather hot for the uk, and its humid as shit which, combined with the long hair i have, meens im bioling in sweat at school.
@berk more importantly tho, yeah, although that may be beacuse of my choice of keyboard and work scedual. it was my larger, laptop keyboard. it was easye rto type with, im still getting used to this small one.

Grace gave a small, disproving grunt. "This is no way to train someone. You have several broken ribs, one of which could have punctured a lung, or even your heart. You could have pierced or broken a major artery in either of you arms. You could have very easily died with these injuries." Grace said as she finished healing Austin. "I think I will talk to Winter about this myself." she added.

When Erica returned with the pistol, James raised his remaining eyebrow, regarding her with a disapproving expression.
"You had a tough first session, but that's no reason to throw in the towel. In fact if anything, that should stiffen your resolve to improve. You never know when you might get caught up in a situation like that again, or if someone gets the jump on a friend and you need to step in immediately to save their life."
