"No, I am the same Winter that you met back in Las Vegas. The same one that came back, albeit younger. I'm the same girl that was scared of her past. It was by chance that my Universe some how got connected by that old universe, now a hollowed out shell by the Space Marine's Virus Bomb. When I was sent back to my own universe, and relived my life, different events happened. WA4 and WA7 didn't directly die my AE00 hands; they were critically injured and wanted me to absorb them. I wasn't rescued by this group, I broke out and killed the Director myself before the Vanguards and Wardens showed up." Winter then looks down.

"The Time Divers only observe the multiverse, we feel everything that happens. If something goes amiss, we correct it, whether it be for good or evil. We are a deterrent to see fates change. The Timeline is always set, and any deviation is punishable by their code. Nothing is crucial to learning. The higher ups find the strangest of humor to alter events to see different outcomes."

Winter finishes the wrapping around her knee. She then hobbles back up.

"You're right. I feel good about our chances." James said, blowing a smoke ring up into the air. "It won't be easy, no doubts there. But We'll find a way. The people here are some of the greatest badasses I've ever seen, and I come from a worrld of them. I've already seen them do the impossible, or at least heard of them doing it. We'll take Chanda and co. down, one way or another."

<color=brown>"Well that first part made sense..... But according to the multiverse theory, aren't there infinite universes? I'm having a hard time understanding having to correct an infinite number of universes."

"Exactly the point. And that's where I despised the notion of the Time Divers. Keeping track of infinite amounts of universes for 10 years gives you a headache, like a migraine, constantly gnawing at your conscience. And the greatest part? It's near impossible to die, and don't age during your servitude. Any injury that you sustain you regenerate in the most painful ways as possible."

@Outis: The knee cut, not so. The patching it up more so, and ranting about something that you never wanted in the first place.

"Yep! That's the spirit!" Erica said as she gave James a pat on the shoulder.
"Although I'd like the odds a whole lot better if we actually knew what we're facing.
For instance, what's up with all those ghosts? are they perhaps the souls of those that died in the city? If so, why are they still there? And what are they doing?
Where do the ones that leave go? Why did one of them attack us when we were in Frace?
So many questions..."

"Very good questions. I couldn't even begin to speculate. Maybe we can drag it out of Chanda when we see her next."

Winter shakes her head. "No, my life with the Time Divers is complete. Nicole Ambrose took my spot. But..."

She looks away. "I can still remember the entire experience, every. single. goddamned. millisecond. of. it."

"And now, since those powers are gone, I have no clue what will happen. I didn't dive out just to save Riou... I wanted to feel the experience of death again, for me not to just constantly throw away life as I did watching the multiverse burn. I want to live, experience every single thing that life has to offer. But will I? I don't know."

"Maybe. Although for I don't have very high hopes for that to work.
If we were to keep her alive for questioning, she'd just disappear into a puff of smoke." Erica replied as she rubbed her chin.

"She's crazy though. Maybe we can trick her into revealing the information."

"Hmm. It's certainly worth a shot. I kinda wanna know just who or what is in that scary-looking tower over there." Erica said, thinking about what Daniel told her.

@Hatch: Ah, ok. Yayz! I always liked Maka and Soul.

Winter shakes her head. "They don't give a damn about former Time Divers. They simply drop us off to our fates right before they took us. One Time Diver was saved from a bullet to the head, and spent only 2 years serving. He left and took the bullet, killing him. His reason? He would rather die then watch everything else around him burn."

She looks down, defeated. "Why they deposited me here... I have no idea."

"Hmm. If I had to guess, I'd say its this 'Master' we've heard about. And I would hazard a further guess that it was his statue that we saw on top of Cocavada mountain the other day."

If the reason why you're here turns out to be malevolent in nature, I think you're taking the best course of action now by living life to its fullest. That is something which the bravest of souls have acquired."
