Xu shakes his head, "I'll never get war. Or Religion, for that matter... or wealth... I can understand power, but power is obtained through effort, work, and training. Religion has been disprove by folklore and the existence of the beings who did it, Goverment has wizened up, wealth is fairly useless, and power is gained through hard work. I might be one of the strongest people in hoenn, from hard work and training."

Now add 2 more boys and 2 more girls. Then multiple that by a thousand. 7000 children and I remember everything about them, their quirks, their personalities, their likes and dislikes. Now imagine putting them down after they lost control of what they are. Completely irreversible from their primal emotions. And yet you remember what they were while fighting them. And once you have the finishing blow, they snap out of their primal emotions... Only to die. I have rescued and saved 7000 children. And put down at least half of that number... And now Four hates me... Because she will never know, nor is she willing enough to listen."

And I was forced to fight my best friend, Jowy during the war. Our armies clashed multiple times. Once, just when we were about to fight, another man, named Gorudo, tried to kill us, and Nanami stood up and deflected the arrows, but took one in the stomach. Together, Jowy and I killed that man in a rage. As far I knew Nanami died that day. And I was told, by my strategist, Shu, a man I trusted more than many others, that I could not mourn her death. That doing so would cause morale to drop and could cost the war. Many good men were lost in those battles, like General Kiba, a man of great character and strong will. I would have liked to mourn him, as well. Once more I couldn't." Riou turns to walk back to the ship.
