"The reflection off of your rifle could give you away." Sniper warned Shannon.

Gerry hummed happily as he started to kiss Asha's neck.

 

[Saltyk]

"I know. And I've had plenty of people to rely on in the past. But... I still feel like I should have been better able to do that one thing..." Riou replies, before looking at Rose, having seen her shake her head, in the corner of his eye. "Something wrong?"

 

[Drakmorg]

"I'm just trying to make sure it's clean. I don't want it to misfire or anything like that." Shannon replied as she kept working at maintaining her rifle.

Asha started purring more loudly in her sleep.

"Look, there was no way you could have known about it, and yet everything turned out alright. So please stop being so hard on yourself. You still managed to help plenty of other people today." Rose said, looking Riou in the eyes. Then she looked away from him again. "It's nothi--actually, yes, there is something wrong. I, uh, kinda lied to you about something. Back when we first met." Rose admitted, looking at the ground.
Might as well get it all out on the table now.

"Just giving some advice." Sniper said.

Gerry continued his actions, hugging Asha tightly and rubbing her back.

 

[Saltyk]

"Maybe you're right, but I just can't help, but feel that I should have done more. Probably my curse. I want to protect people. That desire tends to drive me." Riou said.
The part about the lie starts to sink in, though. "What do you mean that you lied to me?"

 

[Drakmorg]

"Fine, I'm sorry, you're right. Maybe I am a little over-zealous about keeping this thing clean." Shannon said. She finished with her maintenance on her weapon, then reassembled it and placed it back on its hook in her jacket.

Asha started to smile in her sleep.

"Yeah, I feel the same way. You think I liked that I got hurt and couldn't help the others fight? No, as soon as I was fixed up I wanted to hop right back out there and help." Rose said to Riou.
She let out a sigh before continuing. "You remember what I said when we first met? About how I knew that China wasn't in a good state because of the 'Internet'? That's not exactly true. I mean the Internet is a real thing, but that's not how I knew about it. I knew about it...because I just kinda know about everything really."

Gerry started to kiss Asha on the lips and fondle her breasts.

"Just pay attention to the inside of the gun." Sniper said.

 

[Saltyk]

Riou looks down at the ground. "I know you're right. I really do, and I would have done the same thing. Actually, I kind of did. No matter how badly I was hurt in that fight, I just kept on fighting. I just felt mad at myself that I couldn't do one of the few things that I have vowed to do. I tried to help your sister, too, and failed at that."
He looks back up. "What do you mean you know about everything? Are you a seer?" He asks confused.

 

[Drakmorg]

"Yeah yeah." Shannon grumbled. She sighed as she stood back up and stretched. "It is seriously damn boring around here." She idly commented

Asha woke up and stopped purring as her face turned bright red. She instinctively sat up and pushed Gerry away.

"Everyone fails things from time to time. That's what makes us human...or semi-human, in some cases. I'd say the important thing is that you keep trying." I must sound cliche as all hell right now. Rose starting idly trailing the tip of her shoe along the ground. "Well...kinda yeah. I don't know about everything, but I do know about a lot of things. I get of snippets of information about what a few specific people are doing, saying, and thinking. And it's my job to write down everything I see because of that." She explained.

"You get used to it. Be patient." Sniper said.

Gerry scooted away from Asha, worried about what she was going to say. "[sub]...Hello...[/sub]" he said nervously.

Darwin finshed training and fell asleep on the ground with his shirt off. Not his coat though which could be seen holding daggers, watches and even a couple of rings sewn to his jacket

 

[Saltyk]

"I know. It's really just a moment of weakness. Trust me, I've had plenty of things back fire. Liberated one city only to learn that another, even more massive city with a sizable standing army surrendered without a fight. That's a humbling experience. And there were more where that came from I assure you." Riou replies.
He then looks at Rose a little more intently. "A seer, huh? I know a seer. Her name is Leknaat, she's the bearer of the Gate Rune and can read the stars to predict the future. She can't really see the outcome, but she can see that things will happen. So, that's not so different. I hear she even gave out readings to those that asked, but getting to her wasn't always easy. Unless she came to you..."

Shannon sat down in a chair across from where Sniper was sitting. She pulled out a small brush from one of the pockets on her vest and started to brush her hair.

"Wh-Why were you touching me like that while I was asleep?" Asha asked Gerry.

"Well like I said, you're human. You're aloud to have moments of weakness." Rose simply said to Riou.
She started moving her foot to trace a figure-eight sign on the ground. "It doesn't really work like that to be honest. Kinda the opposite really. I don't see the future, I see what has already happened. Like I said, it's a part of my job as a Chronicler. I write down everything that happens concerning a small group of people, namely this group...and the people who oppose us." Rose continued to explain.

"[sub]...I didn't know I was not suppose to...Did you not like it?[/sub]" Gerry asked.

"...Maybe I could see if this place has a shower for you." Sniper said to Shannon.

 

[Saltyk]

"I suppose that is true, though I don't see how being human has anything to do with that. There are lots of different, nonhuman races in my world." Riou said to Rose.
"I see. Well, it's similar, but different. I'm not really sure what to make of that, honestly." He says, thinking for a moment. "Wait. People who oppose us? What do you mean by that?"

"No, I didn't like it! I already said that I'm not ready for that kind of stuff yet." Asha said to Gerry, crossing her arms.

"It's a figure of speech." Rose explained to Riou.
"Um, Luca Blight, and pretty much all his 'buddies' who attacked at the same time a few days ago. I can pretty much see everything they do, just like everyone around here." Rose continued explaining, a little afraid of what else she might have to explain.

Shannon sighed as she continued to brush her hair. "A shower sounds really nice right about now." She replied.

"[sub]...I do not see what touching your breasts has to do with sex...[/sub]" Gerry said, genuinely confused.

"...You know...why did you come with me? I know I've asked before but...it just doesn't make much sense. Sniping's a hard, rough, dirty job, no matter how good you are at it. So why do you want to do this?" Sniper asked.

Riou's eyes widened when Rose explained that. "You knew that? You knew that he was alive? And you know what they are planning?" The thought shocked him, and let him dumbfounded.
He shakes his head. "Why didn't you tell us?"

 

[Drakmorg]

Asha sighed and started to rub the bridge of her nose. "It's...that kind of thing is usually...it's...do you know what 'foreplay' is?"

Rose sighed as she realized she was right about what Riou was going to ask next. "Trust me, if I had any choice in the matter, I would tell you and everyone else about everything I know. But I can't, it's against the rules. My 'employer' as it is, doesn't want me to spread that kind of information around and 'mess with the story' as it were. If I did...he'd kill me on the spot. That's why I was so nervous around you when your Rune started hurting. I wanted to tell you about the reason why it was so badly...but I couldn't." Rose explained, her mood getting more and more gloomy.

Shannon shrugged. "Because it was either this, stick around with those 'trouble-magnets', or be homeless. Those were my choices, so I chose this. Seemed like it'd be a lot less hard, rough, and dirty than either of those other two options to be honest." She said as she continued to brush her hair.

Gerry shook his head, indicating that he did not know what that term was.
