Winter/Madelynn moaned alittle, her eyes flicking here and there.

"Why else do you think we didn't want to use it here? We haven't a clue what this universe entitles or how it works." Kaz replied to Gwen.

"You know how many normal soldiers it takes to take down one Crusader Soldier? 5 or more. And command calls that a 'good day'. I do value my life and so does she, but if it means to sacrifice our own to save everybody else, then goddamn it we will! A soldiers life is sacrifice! We live to protect, and not just ourselves, but for even the people that have outcasted us!" He looked away.

"And you know the thanks we get? None. Absolute jack shit nothing."

Erica entered her room, placed Tophat on a chair, undressed and climbed into bed. She fell asleep not long after.

Four started humming as she kept softly caressing Winter's hand.

"Then your command are a bunch of fools. Sacrificing 5 or more people to kill one is terrible warfare. A soldier's life maybe sacrifice, but that doesn't mean that it can't be more. Needless sacrifice is pointless and serves no one, not even those you want to protect. Trust me, I know just what a good soldier will do for his people, I had plenty. General Kiba formerly of the Highland army led an assault on a insignificant position just to distract the main enemy forces long enough to allow us a victory. He died in that mission. He was a good man and raised a noble son. His sacrifice was tragic, but not in vain. I know what that means!"

The brain flicks its wrist, the gold star disappearing even though the wrist was smaller than the star. "What gold star? And more importantly, you're talking to a brain, who are you to say what makes sense?" It said, a smile would be across its face if it could.

"Our universe is so goddamned messed up. Morality means nothing, everything is necessary for humanity's survival as a whole. And all the good people that realize this are the deterrents, Wardens or Vanguards. And there is naught we can do about it."

Kaz turns to Winter and smiled alittle. "This conversation is over. I'm going to bed." he leaves.
