@Kirke: A magically wind takes Tophat away... IDK... Hmm, actually that could work with Erica because of her Tune Rune o' Wind... try something with @Nailik.
I'm going to say this again to be as clear as possible. My objections to WH40k have absolutely nothing to do with the tone of the universe at larger, or the way it is played. It was probably a mistake for me, someone who knows just about nothing about the subject, to say that everything in that universe is OP comparatively speaking. However, all I was talking about was stuff from experience. More specifically, experience from this thread. Like I have said before, you, @Ven, handle 40k the best out of anyone else who has tried, but, I honestly think it's just more of a headache than it's worth. I'm just stating my opinions and will gladly go along with any plots you have in mind until I see an actual problem with it.VeneratedWulfen93 said:OOC: I tried replying to stuff last night but my internet effed up.
40k and OP:
Aspects of the universe are OP (Forge World models or Imperial Armour models) and everything isn't as stupidily OP as everyone thinks. Who wants to play a board game where every faction is OP?
Mechanics:
The mechanics of 40k is not to have ungodly OP armies duking it out, any gameplay of Dawn of War will show you that. No, the actual main element and mechanic in the game is FUN suprisingly. Every codex, every rule, every errata all designed to make the game flow and fun to play. It isn't grim and depressed nerds sitting in a darkened games shop throwing dice. Its friendly and competitave people laughing their asses off whenever something funny happens.
@Salty Yes I was hateful. So hateful of your characters reaction and it stung like a barb. Good will doesn't belong in the 21st century I just wanted some attention.
@Random 40k fleet vs Reapers would be an interesting match (Apart from the fact that it has never clearly defined how strong reapers shields are.) Also Mass Effect is set a couple of hundred years in the future and yet the technlogy there is consistently more advancement than current Imperial tech.
@ALL I've been here since page 1 of the first thread. Its so hard to interact with everyones characters now because there is this wall of plot and situations that are impregnable to not only new players but those who missed out on the events. If you can honestly tell me the last character I had that knew anyones character well then I would be impressed. This brief plot that I brought out was obviously made with previous observations to other 40k attempts, the whole thing was set up to be like WoW instances, snippets and morsels at a time since I know too much 40k is overwhelming.
Well I don't know about anyone else, but I was making it so that my characters were not dodging and shrugging off every attack that was thrown at them. Grace was forced to maintain her barrier because of the heavy fire the mechs were sending out. That guy (don't remember his name) attacked her while she was resting. She was not prepared and so she got hit. She got hit hard, while she was still tired, so she stayed down. Makes sense to me.CmmdrRosh99 said:Why did we go into so much of a rage-quit mood yesterday?
