The Prime screeched, raising its four arms as it did so before lurching side to side towards Tactus, the shots thudding and chipping against its hardened carapace. Then, defying the size of the creature it leapt into the air with another screech and landed over Tactus, knocking him down before one of its rending claws grabbed him and picked him up. The Prime stared at this creature and tilted its head.

The Guants were finished, having tied up the marines for long enough. The Prime knew it was going down. It just desired to give the Hive Mind as long a glimpse as it could at these defenses.

The Prefect fired a shot through the head of one of the gaunts as what few remained retreated into the darkness.
"We need to get off this ship immediately. Come on!" With that he started off down the corridor the way they had come, Javik and the two remaining Turians in tow.

TActus dropped his assault rifle and squirmed in the Prime's grip. Unable to reach his pistol, he activated his omni blade, the tool's fabricators immediately generating the long, transparent silicon shaft, which he used to slash desperately at the creature's limb. Decius bundled Rhonan into the shuttle and turned to face the Prime as well, opening fire with his own Vindicator.

The Prime seemingly dropped Tactus when it was slashed. Boneswords however were sentient blades and even as the Prime turned its attention to Decius its Bonesword flashed and struck with the immense strength of the Prime and crackling with a bio-electric power field similar to the power weapons wielded by other races. The blade caught Tactus in mid air before the fire from Decius made it stumble back.

Tactus's hardsuit cracked like plastic under the massive blow from the great blade which sheared through scale, muscle and bone, rending the unfortunate Turian in half at the narrow waist. He crashed down on the floor, violet blood spurting from the mortal wound and spattering the inside of his helmet as he choked.

"Man down! Damn it, Prefect, hurry up!" Decius screamed into his comm set as he fired wildly at the Prime, holding the gun steady and squeezing the trigger as fast as he could. At the Prime's feet Tactus raised a shaking hand to his chest, coughing as his throat filled with his own blood. He pressed the activation button on a frag grenade.
"For... my ancestors." He gurgled through the blood.

The Prefect and the rest of his team heard the call for help and sprinted through the halls back to the loading bay.

"We have men on board that derelict vessel facing an unknown enemy. If you can dock with them and assist, then we would be grateful. Otherwise pull your ship out of the way. We may need to destroy it before it enters the atmosphere."

The Prime is thrown back with an awkward screech by the detonations, crashing through a Wriathbone pillar and landing in the rubble.

The Prefect and his team burst into the loading bay. Seeing the Prime thrown off its feet they rushed for the shuttle where Decius stood with a hand thrown over his visor, his kinetic barrier saving him from being pelted by rubble, chitin fragments and pieces of his dead friend.

The Prefect pushed Decius on board the shuttle, and waved each other member of the team on in front of him. As Javik boarded last, the Prefect took a brief glance back at the Prime before boarding himself and sealing the hatch. The airlock detached and the shuttle drifted away from the hull of the Eldar ship before the thrust drives engaged.
"Prefect Vakarian to Dreadnought Vespasian. We're away. Give us time to clear the area, then blow that wreck apart." He muttered into his comm set and gazed around at his team, then focusing on the wounded Eldar laid out on a bench.

The Prime stood up and looked around before stalking forward. A Ranger rifle shot hit an exposed piece of its head after the fire and it let out a physcic screech that echoed through space and shook the vessel.

Out of breath Katelliana looked over her shoulder, a gash across her cheek. "We have done it." She breathed out. 2 other Rangers emerged from the shadows. "But what of Rhonan? Those aliens tooks him?" A young ranger inquired. Katelliana had already slung her rifle over her shoulder and went to inspect her shot on the Tyranid Prime.

Rhonan lay still. The wound he suffered was as much of his spirit as his body.

The Prefect examined the wounded Eldar. Though his wound was severe, Decius and Tactus had already applied a dose of medigel to it, sealing it against bleeding and infection, and dulling the pain somewhat. Still the alien was unresponsive. He shook his head and turned to Decius.
"You did a great job soldier. I'm proud of you.
"Thank you sir." Decius's voice was dull and withdrawn. He had removed his helmet, and he looked shocked and grief-stricken.
"Tactus died as well as any Turian could hope for. I understand that that isn't much consolation right now though. Take 24 hours down-time when we get back to the Vespasian. Drink to his name."
"Thank you sir."

OOC: Oh, shit, wait. The Vespasian has orders to destroy the Void Runner!

Katelliana crouched by her handi work. Those aliens stumbled in at just the right time. Wearing its chitin down, giving her an opening. The Void Runner however was lost, with no Steersman to guide it the spirits of the dead Eldar that assisted in piloting the vessel would have to be salvaged and a temporary Webway gate opened to allow them to escape. Katelliana dispatched the Ranger's to recover the auxiallary spirit stones while she herself examined a corpse. Its waysne was missing. A tear rolled down her face and she fell to her knees, red hair falling over her face. Every part of her body was commited to the lamentation of the sorry fate of those whose spirit stones were shattered, devoured for eternity over and over again by the Chaos god Slaanesh.

Wiping her eyes she stood up, feeling the life drain from the vessel as the spirit stones were removed. She moved to meet the Rangers in the small Webway portal room which ran of its own energy and prepared to step through.

As the shuttle returned to the hangar of the Vespasian, she and the other three Dreadnoughts in the fleet slowly turned to face the Void Runner as it drifted down into Earth's atmosphere. The Prefect and the others disembarked from the shuttle and the Prefect rounded up the salvaged spirit stones from everyone who carried one. He handed them to one of the marines.
"Take these to the armoury, and be extremely careful with them. Load them into a padded pistol case, and then take that to my quarters. If we get the opportunity, we'll have to return them to their rightful owners." Javik glanced at him as the marine nodded and walked away, carefully supporting the crystals.
"Why did we make so much effort to recover those crystals?
"They're important to the race that we tried to assist just now. I'm not entirely sure why, but I think it has something to do with funeral rites. They take it very seriously. I just hope we get the chance to return them before it becomes an issue." As he spoke, he heard the muffled boom of the Vespasian's main gun, and knew that they were beginning their scuttling strike on the doomed Eldar ship.
"I really hope so."

The Rangers stepped into the webway, emerging from a temporary portal on the planet below. Katelliana was loathe to leave, that Void Runner, whose name is unpronouncable in the tongues of humans but translated it was roughly named 'Midnight of Silent Daggers', she had manned that ship for over 100 passes. A considerable amount of time even for an Eldar and letting it go was like leaving behind a loved one.

The death of a Prime is a minor set-back to the Hive-fleet. It was an incredibly complex leader-beast and very few were maintained at a time by such a small Hive Fleet Tendril. Creating another to allow it to operate across larger areas of space and deal with hard resistance instead of resorting to the mighty Hive Tyrants would require a sizeable amount of bio-mass and hard wiring to rebirth another Prime.

The Hive Fleets overall progress is narrowed slightly and it divert to consume lesser worlds instead of moving onwards.

@All: Good morning!

Winter gets up yawning. Looking over at Four, she kisses her and hits the showers. Austin hits the showers as well.

Amy doesn't need a shower due to her power armor's automated self-cleaning systems.

As the Dreadnought guns punched through the hull of the Void Runner over and over the ship began to break apart, then a powerful explosion propelled the great chunks of the ship silently away from one another. Smaller pieces of debris, as well as the bodies of Tyranids and Eldar, drifted among the wreckage.

Far below, Mercurean wing recieved orders to return to their reconnaissance, and set a course for the Americas.

Eldrad closed his eyes and the runes around him became still. He delved into the skein once more.

OOC: And I'm having dinner and then going to go out.

The Cutting Blade quickly made an orbit, and approached the lead Turian dreadnaught.
"This is the Cutting Blade requesting permission to dock."
