OOC: @Ven Never heard of them. And its not just Turians. Avenger fleet Vespasian is a multicultural thing, though the ships and therefore much of the crew belong to the Turian Heirarchy.

OOC: @Berk Elites from Halo. Energy shields, honour driven, believe it is glorious to die in battle or the trademark cloak and energy sword combo. The thing I thought of was a disgraced Field Marshall is exiled but because of his position he retains the command of one Covenant Strike Cruiser (Not Assault Carriers so nothing to worry about) and all the usual Covenant forces. With this he hopes to regain his honour and return gloriouslly to his people.

Also Field Marshalls are kind of a big deal to Elites. They answer only to the Prophets and Fleet Commanders. Since the only way to be promoted in Elite society is confirmed casualties on the enemy forces he is a bit of a genocidle fuck. Zealot class Elites are a few ranks below Field Marshall class and to achieve Zealot status they have to have killed over 1000 hostiles.

OOC: Huh. On typing covenant strike cruiser into Google, this thread was the first thing to come up. No pages mentioning Halo though. Anyway, the Sangheili look fairly tough. Hand to hand they would outfight the Turians. Maybe not the Krogan though. Ina firefight it could go either way, they sound like they have good weapons, but so do the Turians. And in space, I'd have to put my money on fleet Vespasian, since it is a full fleet against one ship, and the Turians like their space battles.

OOC: @Berk There will be other Covenant also, Grunts, Jackals, Hunters, Skirmishers, Drones and accompanying vehicles like Wraiths, Seraphs, Banshees, Ghosts, Revenants and such. And of course Elites of varying rank. Minors, Officers, Rangers, Spec Ops, a chunk of Ultras, a few Zealots, a couple of Generals and the one Field Marshall. I won't be fighting large scale at least it was more of a hypothetical questions.

OoC: if I remember my halo lore right, three human ships of similar size are needed to take out one covenant ship.

OOC: Well, I was planning on going into Cork today, but my brother has taken the fucking car again, so I'll be here for the day. @Ven I understand that, and was giving a hypothetical answer. Apart from established characters like those that I had yesterday, I'll be using only Turians as soldiers. And I might get rid of the Elcor, after the rather odd lack of interst that he produced yesterday.

OOC: @Kirke I don't know what Halo human ships are like, but fleet Vespasian was put together with the sole purpose of hunting down and destroying a Reaper. They could take on a Covenant ship.

OOC: @Kirke The first engagement with the covenant was with a single large ship above Harvest. 117 UNSC ships against one ship and they lost 34 before realising that they had to fire all of their nukes at once to take it down. Its in the comic I got with Halo Wars.

Sovereign class Reaper-2km
Emperor class Battleshipe-8km
Covenant CSO class Supercarrier-29km

@Berk Human ships in Halo have bow mounted Mass Accelerator Cannons or MACs. Covenant ships have an annopoying habit of one hitting UNSC ships.

OoC: @Random Plenty of armour, no shields. Uses MAC cannons and missiles.
@Ven First engagement was a single cruiser against a single human frigate. After that, a battle group of three frigates managed to destroy the cruiser, but loosing two ships and heavily damaging the third. Once that ship got back, a covenant fleet had glassed Harvest. Then a fleet of 117 ships were sent to harvest.

OOC: @Kirke I'll have to check that comic but I lost it. One covenant ship broadcast the message "Your destruction is the will of the gods and we are their instrument" on first contact. I also have Halsey's Journal that I got with Halo Reach and it explains the science behind the SPartan program, energy field technology and every other project she was involved in.

OOC: @If a single cruiser could be taken down by three frigates, then four Dreadnoughts and whatever other number of smaller ships should be able to achieve the same. I haven't really thought the fleet out beyond the presence of the Dreadnoughts and at least one carrier, to be honest. But anyway, the goal of the RP isn't to keep trying to bring in enough firepower to make sure you can dominate everyone else. The only reason the Turians have as many Dreadnoughts as they do was because their original mission required it.

OoC: @Ven it's in the novel "The fall of reach". the covenant ship did indeed send that, to the three frigates that attacked it.

OOC: @Berk its all just guess work, 3 Supercarriers invade Reach alongside around 13 cruisers maybe more. I'm using a single one mainly as a base that can fight small engagements. Also fun-fact. Mass Effect is set around 200 years or so into the future and that has lasers, mass effect fields and such. Halo is set in 2552 and humans are still using standard ballistic weaponary and such.

OoC: @Ven Also, the battle for reach was 150 covenant ships against 300 human, who also had the support of I think 20 orbital mac platforms.
