OOC: They don't actually use lasers in Mass Effect, its all Mass Accelerator weapons. Even things like Javik's gun, the Collector beam, and theThanix weapon series all fire dense streams of microscopic superheated particles in a powerful jet.

The shuttle zipped out of Vespasian's hangar as the sun's rays spread around the curvature of the Earth. Garrus, already wide awake, opened the cockpit door and looked in on the pilot.
"Everything good up here?
"Yes Sir. The co ordinates from the map are plugged in. We're headed for a location on the Eastern United States of America. Should be there in 15 minutes."
"Good. Keep an eye out for mechs when we get close to the surface."

Erica woke up to find herself laying in bed in her room. [sub]"Huh... I don't remember going to my room.

She climbed out of bed, changed clothing and left the ship, looking at the new surroundings. "And of course we just had to come to another pi of a city..."

OOC: The ship moved to Rochester, New York, but presumably if Erica was lying against the hull they'd notice and bring her on board.
The shuttle dropped to the Earth's surface in freefall, only firing momentary bursts from its thrust drives to keep it steady. It punched through the cloud cover at terminal velocity, the front viewport immediately blasted with water droplets that streaked upwards over the slanted blastproof perspex. Once they were below the clouds the shuttle engaged its drives and levellled out, adjusting its course at low level to head for Rochester.
It slowed down over the small city, and while the thrust drives produced an unmistakeable whine from the ground, it was not too loud. Javik noticed Four's ship on the moniters inside the windowless cabin as they passed overhead.
"The resistance has already arrived." He remarked, checking his beam rifle. GArrus glanced at the moniter.
"Then we already have a secure landing site. Pilot! Take us down!"

The shuttle drifted into position alongside Four's much larger ship and settled down, hovering just above the ground. The side hatch opened and Garrus, Javik, Saressa and Kragg hopped out one by one, moving to clear the way. Behind them the huge, lumbering Elcor stepped down as well, first on forearm, then the other, followed by his shorter hindlegs. He swept his blunt head from side to side, taking in the new surroundings.
"With disappointment; the forest was a pleasant place." He said in a sleepy monotone.
Javik searched around the ship, noting that only one human was outside.
"Where is everyone?" He wondered aloud. "Have they gone to infiltrate the factory already?"

Erica cocked a eyebrow as the collection of of strange-looking alien exited the craft. "Uhh. Hello there." She said as she approached, waving as she did. Normally, she would be more wary, but because she had seen the aliens talking to several others the day before, those worries were largely put to rest.
The soldiers of fleet Vespasian moved forward to meet Erica, and Garrus stepped to the fore, extending a hand with three long, thick digits.
"Garrus Vakarian, Prefect of Avenger fleet Vespasian." He introduced himself. "We're here to assist this resistance group with their mission. Can you tell us the current mission status?"

"Uh. Hiya Garrus Vakarian, Prefect of Avenger fleet Vespasian. Deary me, that's a mouthful. I'm Erica!" Erica replies, shaking Garrus' three-fingered hand. "No idea about a 'mission status', really. I just woke to find we've moved to this dump."
"I see. Well, what about your comrades? Have they already set out for the MTek factory?" Garrus asked, looking around for some evidence that the camp had been mostly vacated. "We assumed that you had been left on sentry duty." As they spoke, Saressa and Javik stood listening, while Kragg and the Elcor wandered away, examining the surroundings.
"Look at this place." Kragg muttered at the ruined residential buildings. "Everything is so flimsy. No wonder Tark reduced it to rubble so quickly. I bet even Salarians wouldn't build something so weak."

"I have no idea. But if I were to take a guess, I'd say all of them are just sleeping." Erica replies. "At the other hand, it could well be they left off without saying a word. We're not the most well-oiled machine when it comes to things like this."

Winter gets up, rubbing her eyes. Kissing Four, she hits the showers. Amy stirs from her perch ontop of Four's ship and looks at the aliens with sparkling eyes.
Austin gets up as well, and looks at Noel still sleeping on his head. Smiling and kissing her, he hits the showers as well.

"Still sleeping?" Garrus asked, surprised. He glanced up at the sun, still low in the sky. "Dawn is the time that this operation should be taking place. With the number of military and Intelligence personnel here, I'd be surprised if they didn't know that."
"If they have not yet woken, then we should take advantage of the early hours ourselves." Javik said. "Civilian lethargy is something that I have seen enough among the... young races. They do not understand battle, but we cannot allow that to slow us." Garrus nodded.
"Alright. We'll scout ahead, get a feel for their defences. Javik, Saressa, you're with me." He turned back to Erica.
"I'll leave two of my men here in the camp, for defence and to allow us to remain in easy contact. Is that acceptable?"

Garrus reached over his shoulder and unclipped a folded down M-27 Incisor sniper rifle, a quick tap of a button on the stock causing it to unfold and extend to its full imposing length and shape. Briefly checking the scope, cocking handle and feeder block, he returned it to the clip on the back of his hardsuit, then watched Amy approach as Saressa and Javik readied their weapons as well. AS they approached he contacted Kragg and the Elcor through his comm set.
"Kragg, Tembo, you're on guard duty. We're going to scope out the factory."
