The signal reached a midorbit satellite, twice the size of the International Space Station. With a large particle cannon... Whoops.
At the ending of 'Perish', the satellite fired a stream of purple light that zipped down from the sky and ignited a second sun far beyond the group, as the Earth itself rumbled from the blast. After 5 seconds, the beam of light stopped and the satellite disappeared again, as the signal connection was lost.
Nova slowly descended again.
