Terra gave the man in the peculiar mask a strange look while awkwardly returning his wave. "Umm... Hello? Who... are you?" Upon seeing the other new man, Terra gave him a small wave also. So many new faces... "Good morning... Who are you?" she then turned to Jacques again and rubbed her stomach. "I would... Last time I ate a decent amount of food was back at the mansion..."

 

[Random berk]

"Tres bien!" Jacques exclaimed and turned to look at the surrounding streets.
"In my time, Paris was the best city in the world for fine cuisine. Surely even now it shouldn't be difficult to find something worth eating. On y va!" He set off down the widest of the streets in front of them.

 

[Saltyk]

Zack takes the Buster Sword off his back and looks at it for a moment, before putting it back. He walks over to the others. "Mom and Dad always said that breakfast was the most important meal of the day."

 

[Chungus]

"Probably... But I don't think we should just take it without asking..." Terra said to Bane as she followed Jacques. "...What are those wierd words you keep using?" she asked Jacques after a while.

 

[Random berk]

Jacques grinned and shook his head at Bane.
"Bah! Simple peasant's fare, for the most part." He said half jokingly, before glancing at Terra.
"It is French, Madamoiselle. My native language. Why do you ask?"

The man sees a mountainous person in a mask speaking about other kinds of food, he can't help but stare

"'Peasant's fare'? You talk like Genesis. Not sure how I feel about that..." Zack said to Jacques.

"I've never heard it before..." Terra said to Jaques.

Jacques glanced at Zack.
"Quel est le probleme? The peasant class eat more basic foodstuffs, even in times of plenty. That's how it has always been." Turning back to Terra, he nodded sympathetically.
"Ah, that is a shame. It is a beautiful language, no? Sadly, I may well be the last man alive to speak it."

"The 'peasant class'... You kind of sound like you're talking down to them..." Zack replied.

sadly all of this high class conversation was lost upon the man and considering he couldn't even remember his own name it seemed like a long shot that he would know what they were actually talking about

 

[Chungus]

Terra shurged. "It just sounds odd to me..." Upon the mention of food and class, Terra looked down at the ground. Remembering some of the days when she was a slave. Imperials feasting on a large banquet, while she was left in a cell with naught but bread and water.

 

[Random berk]

"Well, sometimes the ways of society can rub off on a person." Jacques said, comprehension dawning on him. "The peasant class are generally talked down to. Of course, I have seen enough to know that the quality of a man's character and the nobility of his birth are not necessarily linked. And at the end of it all, the wealthiest lord will end up in the same soil as the most uneducated pig farmer. I don't believe that the differences between noble and peasant extend to their soul, only to their wealth and education."

 

[Saltyk]

"I think the only reason to be strong is to protect other people and do the right thing. Without that, you can't really say that you have honor. You may not be able to feed and cloth them, but you should at least consider yourself as having a duty to protect them. And not make life more difficult, either."

"Which we do by fighting to defend our country." Jacques replied before looking back to Terra with his typical charming grin.
"Ah, perhaps I can teach you to appreciate it over... what's wrong?" He asked, his grin fading.
