Phoenix's bad mood shifted to slight horror... Then an emotionless monotone as her eyes glaze over with an orange haze.
"And what if it tries to destroy everything that you built? A weapon that you simply have no defense against. And that everything that you use it, it gets closer and closer to your own death?"
OoC: Yes, the clones were made to have that failsafe to make sure that they are always under control. Though In-Universe, Nova would have found a way to break that system.

Vergil looked at Scorch. "This is true power. Why are you afraid?" He turned to Varger. "You were too weak to control it then. That's why you were destroyed. You had might, but you could not use it." He turned to Phoenix. "Keep going. Do not let youself be dsotroyed by your own power. You can control it."

@Gear: Depends on her treatment and several questions that she has at later points in the thread. Actually In-Universe, Phoenix was supposed to fight Nova... With Nova killing off Phoenix.

In another blue flash, Vergil reverted back to his human form, sighing dissapointedly. "You are weak." He parried George's strike with Yamato's scabbard, and dodged Zack's blade. "I am trying to help her unlock her true power. Why do you interfere?"
Scout looks at Vergil, after pullling out a small little hat.
"Pretty neat, but mind me pointing something out? If you use a sentient power, then the power will use you, pretty much making you a slave of your own devise, making the entire thing pointless, since you loose you're freedom for power."

He stopped drifting idily around. A low hiss came from beneath his hood. He was angry. It was not his weakness, humans were not meant to linger so long. "Weakness isn't the word I use for it. I had slaughtered many, travelled far and was completely in control. Even now I could snap you like a twig and devour your essence but I lost that desire a short time ago."

Varger vanished in the confusion appearing a short distance away when focus shifted off him. he let out a chuckle at the situation. "Perhaps I was wrong." He chuckled again. "Perhaps there is one more oppurtunity for me to make this work...several of you are liable candidates...I only need one." He slowly began to produce his arms, one gripped a curved dagger and the other a vial of dark liquid.
