Couleuvrine broke free of the troops around it and charged clear.
Jacques's continued to struggle against the troops that were battering him, but as he fired a plasma shot through the head of one and sending him crashing to the ground, he caught sight of one of the tanks targeting him. His eyes widened and his struggles ceased.
"Oh, merde...". At that moment however, Couleuvrine came smashing into the cluster of soldiers, scattering them as effectively as its namesake. Jacques grabbed one of the stirrups and was violently yanked clear. A moment later, the tank fired into the crowd. He struggled against the horse's momentum and finally managed to pull himself into the saddle, where he slumped down, grabbing the reins to keep himself in the saddle.
"Suivez les autres." He muttered, and the horse began to follow the others to the city.

Having cleared the last tank, Long Fang began to run into less enemy resistance as he approached the city limits. Thre soldiers levelled their rifles at him as he reached the high chain link fence that marked it out. Using his combi-stick like a pole vault he planted the tip in the snow and lunged, hammering both feet in the chest of the man in the centre, crushing his rib cage and forcing him to the ground. Spinning on his heels he drove the combi-stick through the face of the man on the right then extended his claws and lashed out at the third man, slicing through his rifle and severing his arm, before delivering a follow-up stroke to the throat. Ripping his spear from the chest of the second body, which was still standing, he turned away and leapt over the fence.
