"Well I guess if you're too scared, I'll just have to step up to the plate then." Etna said, snatching the canister out of Terra-2's hand, though the lid was left in Terra-2's hand. She held it out at arm's length and turned it upside down to safely empty it's contents, as she was still expecting it to explode or release toxic gas.

"I'll think I'll go make sure everyone is alright." Flonne said. She bowed to Phoenix and Jean, then went outside to check up on everyone.

All that fell from the canister was a letter. Nothing else.

What a waste of perfectly good poison. Oh well. "Careful now. It might release some more of that demon-incapacitating dirt!" she mockingly said to Etna. She was disappointed to find that what she thought to be poison wasn't actually poison at all. Or maybe it wasn't a waste.

"My, my. Aren't we bitchy today Terra?"Something's really, really off... I better ask Phoenix or Jean... Katrina stated to Terra-2's attitude.

"I don't think so... You're my friend, and I'm here to protect you. Simple as that." Phoenix said to Jean and nodded to Flonne.

@All: I have editted the TvTropes character page slightly. Separating the characters by the RPers would be better anyways.

"Well...I'm just glad I could keep you safe for a change." Jean said as she lightly pushed on Phoenix's arm.

Etna tossed the empty metal canister at Terra-2's head in response to her comment. Then she curiously picked up the letter and read it, if nothing else she could at least keep it as kindling to burn later.

Flonne wandered up to where everyone was gathered around the dead body. "Everyone alright?"

 

[Furioso]

Raven turned to Flonne "Oh hey! I wondered where you had gone off to, yea we're fine, we caught tha bad guy"

Mitsuru eyed the paper curiously, waiting to hear what was on it

The letter read:

Phoenix

Your offer to defect has been accepted.
When you are ready, feel free to kill all of the people working for Thanatos. Don't worry, I'll be informed by Joseph.
In return, I will alleviate the issue of the genetic degeneration. Only one such as myself could fix such mistakes, as those.
In addition, inform Katrina that I will deal with her problem as well, and kill Megan. In return, I only require the Elemental Orbs she has gathered as per the agreement.

Terra-2 flinched as the canister hit her on the forehead, though she still giggled. Turning to Katrina, she shrugged. "After a certain ordeal, I'm done acting nice with those who don't show kindness to me."

"Oh...come on. I just dragged you into the ship..." Jean said as she waved off what Phoenix said and looked away.

Etna silently chuckled to herself as she read the letter. Did Hojo seriously think this would work? He must think we're all idiots to fall for amateur misdirection like this....Then again, that ungrateful Phoenix and Miss *****-pants can both go die for all I care. She handed the paper to Raven so he could deliver the news with a shrug, as Etna couldn't do so and still contain her laughter. She turned to Terra-2 and said, "Hey, you're the one who started it, little miss Drama Queen." She didn't look at Katrina when she said to her, "None taken."

"Well that's good to hear." Flonne said, though it was lacking in her usual enthusiasm as she still thought the whole thing was just a misunderstanding.
