"I do what I do because it was expected of me. Killing, drinking, making bombs... hell, even losing an eye or two is expected of all the demomen in the DeGroot clan." Tavish replied with another sigh, still staring at the ground.

He tried to take a drink from the bottle of rum, but the cork was still in the bottle. "Can ya help me with this?" He asked, holding the bottle out to Sophia. He figured that if her nail could carve wood, it could pull a cork out of the bottle.

"Yup. Way taller. And yet this place has more people. They must have a lot more ground to cover if they can manage that with such small buildings."

"How about I open it for you when we're done. I'd much rather talk with you while you're still sober, and I don't have to smell the extra alcohol, my nose is a lot stronger than yours and if it wasn't for the wind I'd have probably smelled you by the end of the street probably." She compromised, taking the bottle from Demoman's hand, but setting it gently on the ground.

"Look I can understand what you're good at, but just because it's in your blood to do something, doesn't mean you have to follow along right?" Sophia tried to explain. "Maybe it just seems selfish for me to say... but, is it really that hard you can't be a demoman of... demolishing buildings or something?" Sophia asked thoughtfully.

"Demolishin' buildings, ha! Nah, nobody would ever hire me fer something like that. But I am the best at what I do. My clan has been poor for centuries, an' me own dad had ta work 23 jobs just ta keep the family fed, and he was missing both eyes by the time he was my age." Tavish explained.

"But me? I make five million dollars a year, and I bought back the clan's old castle AND a new mansion. Even after that, all me mum can do is tell me that I'm not doing enough, that I need more jobs, that I'm lazy and a disgrace to the DeGroot name. I've done better than any demoman in history, but it's still not enough." Tavish said.

"I'd really like that drink now"

"Yeah, space to put buildings."
Vicky explained.
Code:
"We ran outta space, so the only way we could build was up. Doesn't look like these people have hit that point yet though."

Sophia slowly leaned down to pick up the wine again, looking up at Demoman's face to see if he was trying to pull a fast one or not. "You can't be serious right? How could anyone hold 23 different jobs together? That makes no sense." She said as she reached to grasp the cork. "That can't all be true, can it?" She added before letting out a grunt as she popped the cork.

"Here... since you want it so bad." She said handed the bottle back to Tavish, not wanting to hold onto the bottle much longer herself.

(I should probably get to bed now.)

Tavish took a long drink from the bottle. "Ah, that's the stuff. Thanks." Tavish said with relief.

"And... [sub][sub]sorry[/sub][/sub]" He said under his breath.

Having handed the bottle over, Sophia was considering simply getting up and moving away, but then stopped when she heard Tavish mumble something. "Did... did you just say sorry?" Sophia asked, put a little off guard as she wasn't expecting him to apologize.

"What?! Ah, no. Of course not. You must be hearin' things." Tavish replied nervously. He was looking Sophia in the eyes as he talked, now that he felt he had made up for earlier by mumbling an apology.

Sophia continued to look at Tavish rather skeptically, knowing for sure that Tavish had said something. She thought it had been sorry, and couldn't think of anything else it could be. "Oh really? So you're getting all flustered over nothing then?" Sophia said with an 'oh really now?' expression on her face. "Because if it was, mumbling like that doesn't really show you were very much sorry then, now does it?" She grinned mischievously, although her mood seemed have to gone up quite a bit.

"Well, let's see..." Seras said as she placed her finger on her lip while thinking about how best to sum up her home country. "England is also an island. I don't know if it's bigger or smaller than Japan, but it's also pretty big. It rains a lot, and generally the weather isn't very good, but you get used to that. Our food gets a bad reputation, but it's not as bad as people make it out to be." she said.

Samus had followed the group into the bounty store, looking over the jobs available, trying to figure out who she could handle and how the system worked.

"It could be better, but like I said, you get used to it. You just need to know places that serve good food and avoid the places with bad food. Just like anywhere else. I mean, probably..." Seras said to Vicky.

"Meh, I like the rain anyways. It's nice and cool." She smiled in nostalgia.

Samus briefly wondered if it was a joke before scanning into her suit's database and putting the sheet down, looking to the others.
