Massai Mara, Kenya - 3:59 AM
Grazing through the African plains and moving back into the folliage, the bug raised its head and sniffed the air as it picked up a new scent, coming from a multitude of sources, concentrated and concentrated from an area nearby. Following the scents, the bug saw the source sleeping high up in the trees, a troupe of Chacma baboons. Where they would be safe from their natural predators there, the height offered no protection from the bug.
Climbing up the tree in which the most baboons were nestled, the bug masked its scent to match the baboons, and circled around for a moment when it neared them as it thought of the most effective means of taking down a prey. Taking its time, with the baboons being oblivious to its pressence as they slept.
Deciding on a method, the bug crept up to two baboons sleeping close together, and grabbed one by the right leg, and the other by the right arm with its pincers, pulling the two off form the branch they were laying on and dropping them, letting them plumit to their deaths.
With the rest of the troupe waking up by the shrieks of the two baboons that had fallen, the bug moved down the tree, not wanting to face down the troupe who were fifty or so strong. Moving backwards to save time, the bug touched down on the ground, grabbed the two corpses of the baboons that had fallen, then ran away, dragging the corpses behind it.
Once a suficient distance away, the bug stopped, exhaled through its nostrils, then began eating the baboons.
