We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

"[color=01A9DB]I do not kill with my gun. He who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father...[/color]" Roland continued, drawing in a deep breath after that last word. "[color=01A9DB]I kill with my heart![/color]" As soon as he finished, he drew and fired his revolver with his left hand, his right fanning the hammer. He aimed at the mech's left hand, striking the same spot, dead center, with six bullets fired with more speed than a machine gun, as precise as a laser. Roland began reloading immedietly after the sixth shot, and while he was slowed by the fact that he only had one good hand he was still incredibly fast.

Tavish's eyepatch began glowing green as he once again channeled the power in the Eyelander, and he charged in and attempted to swing at the mech's legs.

The mech shuddered for a second from EMily's EMP and Gwen's gravity manipulation, but it pulled the axe out of the ground anyway. Roland's bullets hammered the hand, leaving a small dent in it. The mech raised the weapon, then swung around itself in a circle, trying to slice Sophia and Tavish before they could do major damage.

Group 2, go!

 

[Wackymon]

Medic quickly healed Sophia of any wounds she might face.

Engineer plopped down his sentry, and began setting it up.

The sectoid shot at the giant mech.

 

[Drakmorg]

Vicky yelped as she was knocked out of the air and tossed against the ground, hitting it with her back and rolling enough of a distance to be out of range of his axe swing, winding up face down and losing her weapons. Good thing I'm indestructible, otherwise that might've killed me... She stood back up and groaned a bit as a result of the new nasty bruises on her back. She closed her eyes and breathed in deeply. Reopening them, she let out a deep growling noise before rushing at the mech while drawing another blade with her right hand, her speed greater than it previously was. She changed directions to circle-strafe the mech, moving towards the side of the arm it held its axe in, then jumped once more, aiming to stab into the back of the mech.

Samus joined with the Sectoid, combing her fire with his.

The combined fire hit Khamsin's cockpit shielding, making it glow red with heat. When Khamsin was done spinning, he brought his axe down on the sentry, using the rockets on it for an extra boost to try and smash it to bits. However, that left him open to Victoria. She managed to get a stab in, throwing off sparks. Khamsin shook the mech, trying to dislodge her, before reaching back with one hand to try and crush her.

OoC: I'm off for the night. Group one, post and I'll get back to you tomorrow.

As Sophia continued to run down to the stretch of cover, she kept tabs on what the robot was doing. As it started to bring the ax head up, she felt a twinge of uneasiness. Seeing this Sophia prepped the orb as she built it up slightly more before bringing both her hands together and towards the ground, wrists one over top of each other. Feeling like she was far enough away to make the jump from one side of the road to the other, she broke from the bushes, just in time for her to see the rockets on the blade ignite.

She then launched herself forward and up, the orb compressing for a moment before launching like an aerosol spray below her with enough force for her to easily clear the road gap and get into the other set of trees. The ax blade from the Khamsin would fly underneath her harmlessly.

An small explosion however would result after the blade passed through the area Sophia had just been in. Nothing gigantic, being more of a fireball than something like a frag grenade, but the resulting explosion near the blade might tamper with the rockets attached to the blade or the chain mechanism.

Sophia herself would land on the opposite side of the road, hitting the farther end of the branch as it bended, absorbing some of the impact and the tactical vest helping to absorb more, regardless Sophia would flop to the ground, well out of the robot's ax range with its current movement. "Holy Crap! Why the hell did that happen?!" Sophia squeeled as she looked behind herself at the remnants of the fireball in the air. 'Gotta keep moving though. That thingy's way faster than I thought it was!' She took a deep breath as she continued on, forming another orb just in case.

Roland realized that his shots didn't have much effect on Khamsin, so he followed Sophia to grab a heavier weapon.

Tavish threw the Eyelander straight at the cockpit of the mech, diving to the ground in between it's feet to dodge the axe. He rolled onto his back and started placing sticky bombs on the underside of the giant machine standing over him, laughing in spite of the almost certain death that awaited him in this position.

 

[Kirke]

Nothing. You cry out, but no mouth moves. You nearly call the darkness back, for it you knew. There is nothing. You are nothing, but you. Slowly you see, there are others. Yet they are unaware, the cannot let go. You see, your vision unclouded. It is beyond words. You cannot touch the others, you are weak, wounded. You wait, leaving the concept of time.

 

[Slenn]

At maximum energy, EMily shot the said energy into her heart, engaging Photon form. She could not attack for the time being, however all electromagnetic data regarding molecular and atomic motion was available to her within the nearby vicinity.

Gwen had also reached her peak energy. She held herself together and let out a howl as she created a powerful horizontal gravity field of at least 10 g's to deflect the axe away from the sentry.

Khamsin didn't notice the Demoman under him, nor the bombs being attached to his underside. It seemed he had discovered a blind spot. The Eyelander went right through the cockpit's armour, spearing a hole in it but not hitting Khamsin's human body.

Sophia's explosion and Gwen's grav field knocked the axe of course, sparing the sentry and causing it to stall for a moment. Khamsin let loose a roar, then charged forward at blinding speed towards Gwen, kicking up a massive cloud of dust and sand, intending to bulldoze her over.

Group 2.

 

[Wackymon]

Engineer was, fortunately, still a fair distance away, and quickly whirled out a Rescue Ranger, immediately dragging it back into his hand, and plopping it down again.[hr]
Medic continued his healing, having followed Sophia.

Sectoid then tried to tear a few holes in it's head.

Riko began playing her bass, creating the ball-and-chain wisps she had used on Minuano. She unleashed them on Khamsin, while Joel began laughing maniacally and heating up.

 

[Drakmorg]

Vicky managed to stay on Khamsin's back with the help of her makeshift hand-hold, holding it with both hands as hard as she could while it shook about. Once she had a moment of him calming down, she placed her feet against the mech's back and let go of her sword. She stood up, seeming to ignore gravity altogether and stick to it's back. The hand took her somewhat by surprise and whiffed right her front of her, sending her staggering back and nearly losing her balance. Since she hadn't had time to retrieve her blade, it was still stuck in the mech's back when it's hand would strike it. She then started walking up the back of the mech, not going too quickly, and making sure that one foot always completely touched the mech's back.

The Sectoid would find his attempts unsuccessful.

Samus fired a missile at the mech, aiming for the cockpit. The explosive scorched the metal, but didn't breath it.

Rikos ball and chain didn't slow the mech down by much, though it was at least aloe enough to dodge now.

The blade left by Vicky continued to throw off sparks even as she left it, the hand whiffing right past it.

Group one.

 

[Outisakanobody]

After catching up with the group I shoot the mech everyone else is attacking. Better aim for the cockpit.

 

[Slenn]

EMily floated into the air. With the skirt fluffing out from the vibrant energy she was slowly gaining, the appearance of her arms above her head made her appearance akin to that of a ballet dancer. She slowly brought her hands down with her eyes closed, palms extended forward and firing her solar laser at the leg joints of the mech. This laser was at least 10 times the magnitude in watts in comparison to the industrial laser she can create, and generated the same spectrum of light as the sun.

Gwen activated her Graviton Form at her peak energy, gaining extensive knowledge of the masses around her. Everything from gasses to solids she could feel moving within the near vicinity. She gravity boosted herself away from the mech's path with the minimal energy she had.

 

[Zepherus14]

Sophia continued running towards the roadblock with the single rocket launcher, watched the robot to see what was happening. She'd be significantly shocked to see Victoria standing on its back as it turned away from her and towards Gwen. Moreover, as the robot started charging forwards she noticed that Demoman was underneath the robot at the moment. She looking behind her she wasn't entirely sure how Medic had followed her, since she'd just barely missed the ax but there were more important things to deal with now.

'Why do those rockets keep firing when it moves?' Sophia thought as she continued going, getting close to the edge of the cover at which point she'd be able to get to the fallen cyborgs. "Roland if you can, try and hit those rocket engine things! On its back and on that ax thingy." She called back to him.

(Sorry thought when you said follow, that meant follow It's all good.)

Roland didn't know what a rocket was, but he understood "on the back of the axe" well enough. Without breaking stride, he drew his revolver and fired at one of the rockets and began aiming at another.

Tavish got up as Khamsin charged at Gwen, already placing his finger on the detonator for the three stickybombs attached to the underside of the mech. He briefly considered warning Vicky first, then decided against it and pressed the button anyway. Vicky was on the opposite side of the mech as his bombs were, anyway.

OoC: Roland didn't even start running for a rocket launcher until after Sophia dodged the axe, and he isn't that fast on his feet. He's pretty far behind her.

The bug cocked its head a little, wondering why the faceless person stated they weren't native to Earth when the bug stated it knew this, but decided it wouldn't be worth the effort to bring this up.
