We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

[Chungus]

Seeing Jona turn after it again, the bug pulled in its right wing and flapped its left, strafing to the right while losing altitude, then preforming a barrel roll to the left to evade the jet of flame sent after it. During these maneuvres, the bug's head stayed level, only turning a little when it rolled. It could feel the feet from the flame, even from a distance, but this didn't bother it much. The jet did serve to illuminate the night sky and make the bug vissible, however.

Vibrating its throat as it prepared an attack of its own, the bug raised banked to the right and began flying closer to Jona. Turning its head towards him, the bug shot a glob of glue from its nasus at Jona's face, this more serving as a distraction, with the bug hoping it would force Jona to move the fire jet to intercept the glob, giving it a better opening.

Emily's laser and the Sentry's fire damaged the leg beyond repair, causing the Gekko to fall. It started screeching like a wounded cow, machine guns look around for a target but not able to accurately target anyone because of the angle.

X9 and Roland's fire hammered at the head armour, denting it.

Joel's firey hand inside the leg caused it to lash out, kicking him with enough force to flatten a car.

Gwen's iron spikes embedded themselves in the Gekkos head with a loud think, making the whole thing shudder and grain.

OoC: can you say whether you're attacking 1 or 2 again? I'm getting kinda mixed up here.

Jona did, indeed, redirect the fire to stop the glob of glue. [color=ce2029]"It's no fun if you just stay up there! I want you to burn!"[/color]

Joel was sent flying backwards, and hit the road hard. He slowly got to his feet, his temperature rapidly dropping. [color=003399]"You fucking ****."[/color] Joel groaned as he staggered for cover.

Gwen then attacked the same Gekko (the one with rail spikes in its head) with a crushing gravity well.

EMily assisted on the same Gekko with an industrial laser.

When Roland noticed the pain fading from his arm, he looked down and saw that he was no longer wounded. He tore the tourniquet off of his arm to restore bloodflow, then began firing much more rapidly now that he could use his right arm to reload and fan the hammer.

Tavish decided against trying to get his weapons back. He equipped his pipe bomb launcher and began firing directly at the Gekko.

OoC: Tav and Roland are both on Gekko two.

The sentry gun continued to fire at the closest Gekko, while Engineer continued to do the same.
The sectoid continued to fire at the fallen gekko.

Medic began to heal Victoria after healing Roland to full.

Getting behind another pillar, Sophia looked to see that the Gekko1 was still reeling for some ungodly reason. Completely bewildered on what to do next and having a clear shot to shoot at, Sophia raised up the Plasma pistol and fired one shot at it, wincing preemptively expecting a loud noise. She then opened an eye slowly, wondering if the thing had even gone off. 'It's brighter than it was, right?' Leaning her head slightly to look at the barrel more.

Finding that the plasma gun wasn't so bad, she fired off as many shots as she could at the Gekko 1. Her aim was terrible, but because of the sheer size of these Gekkos, most of her shots should still land. She would duck in behind the pillar if the Gekko 1 managed to right itself.

As Jona redirected the fire jet, the bug flew a bit closer to him, momentarily holding out its wings to soar rather then fly, the bug's throat stopped vibrating as it opened its mouth and sprayed a small stream of yellow liquid at Jona's face, moving its head to moving to the general area where its hands where. After this, the bug strongly flapped its wings again to pick up speed, buzzing its insect wings on top of this to give it an extra boost. It didn't bother reacting to Jona's taunt.

Should the liquid make contact with Jona's skin, it would cause a severe burning sensation, as it was highly irradiated.

Seeing that Tavish was firing explosives at the Gekko she was climbing, Vicky elected to jump away on her own before she was violently thrown off again. She stretched as her wounds began disappearing as a result of Medic's help. I have really gotta find a better way to hurt things without needing to get close to 'em...

With all the combined fire, both Gekko's fell, giving off pained death moos as they hit the ground, the robotic heads sparking.

Sophia continued clicking the trigger for a short time longer before realizing nothing was coming out of it anymore, the killer cow robots of doom finally falling. When it finally clicked that the Gekko wasn't going to get up, she let out a sigh of relief as she slumped a little but remained standing. "That... was really scary." She mumbled to herself as she caught her breath.

"Is everyone else good over there!?" She called out the other people who'd been fighting Gekko2.

Tavish casually walked over to the fallen Gekko to garb his weapons.

Roland reloaded and holstered his gun, staying alert for anything else that might attack them.

"I want to talk to the robotics engineer who made these things and ask them 'of all things you could make these things sound out, you chose mooing?'"

Gwen chuckled lightly.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

Victoria called over to Sophia. The membrane she had formed around herself disappeared, causing her to become perfectly visible again. Having resolved to not bother with rifles any longer, she pulled all the ammo out of the pockets of her vest and threw it all on the ground.

"That's good!" Sophia said as she climbed over a roadblock as she made her way over to the others. "So... I wasn't hearing things either right? They were definitely mooing?"

"Oh! Um... Engineer, I kinda used all the ammo on this thing..." She said as she gingerly handed over the gun to Engi.

 

[Slenn]

EMily used her radio wave sense with Photon once again to search for any signals.

"Hopefully this trail of robots leads to a good outcome."
