[Slenn]

"Yeah, that's what a remote control for a TV does. Only instead of sending an infrared signal like the remote, the broadcast station can send a command through radio. Both are electromagnetic waves." She said to the shop owner.

Gwen looked aggravated.
<color=purple>"She's always making that excuse. I'm searching for her regardless. I feel like she needs help."

"But we're already looking for Samus."

<color=purple>"Then I'll search for her on my own. Don't worry I'll catch up with you later. I know, from looking at your map, where the broadcast signal is coming from"

 

[ShindoL Shill]

"Well, if they keep doing this, it's going to get really annoying. We've got patients here that need sleep." the man said, before heading back down to the shop front.

[color=003399]"Maybe if we look up the show, we could find out who makes it and maybe where it's being filmed."[/color] Joel suggested.

 

[Slenn]

"Hmmm... I don't have access to the internet of this era. But local TV stations always broadcast a channel guide station on a single channel. I did sense some wireless signals in this era that would have been used for the internet. But for now, this seems to be the quickest search." She turned on the TV again. "I see the channel number." She typed up the number on an electronic notepad on Photon. She began searching for a station that was a TV Guide. "Good god, this era has a mountain load of channels. In my time, there's only ten or so that focus on the basics. What would people need with all this junk? Ah! Found it." She paused and waited for the channel to show up.

<color=green>"Bye bye, Gwen. See you later."

She nodded and left the building. She wanted to begin with searching by masses, but then decided to search from a bird's perspective. She hovered into the air about 50 meters above the ground. She searched around for anything that might resemble a person with cat ears and a tail.

While EMily looked for something I don't even think exists, Joel picked up the remote and turned on the TV guide. [color=003399]"You don't watch TV much, do you?"[/color] he asked, as he began looking through the shows.

 

[Slenn]

"Not much really. In my time there's history, sports, weather, news, cartoons, live action fiction, food, science, exploration, and movies. And all of those just get one channel. The reason is that once the digital age kicked in, more and more people started to turn to the internet for streaming content that they got to choose. Want to watch the latest episode of whatever? You don't have to watch TV anymore, now you can do it on your own. The only reason TV for fictional works stayed in business was because it made deals that it would be the only way to see content earlier than its internet release."

<color=green>"I thought it was cool when I was younger. But then it just seemed old and archaic as I got into my teens."

 

[Drakmorg]

A bird's-eye view flyover of the streets wouldn't allow Gwen to find any sign of where Victoria might have gone, or her current whereabouts.

[color=003399]"Well, that makes sense."[/color] Joel said as he continued scrolling through. [color=003399]"I'm not seeing the show anywhere. This is really weird."[/color]

 

[Slenn]

"That is most peculiar. Perhaps the show you saw is sending its information to the BBC and overtakes the scheduled programming. We should ask the people around here if they're aware of this show."

<color=purple>Hmmm... I'll just head in the direction I saw her heading in yesterday when I was near the exit of the ship." She located the ship and headed back there to start a new search.

 

[Drakmorg]

Further investigation of the streets from above would continue to yield no results.

[color=003399]"This just gets more and more confusing."[/color] Joel said as he turned off the TV. [color=003399]"Let's go."[/color]

 

[Slenn]

The two sisters headed out of the store and located the nearest person biding their time.
"Excuse me? Do you mind if I ask you a question?" She called out.
"If this doesn't work, I'll try searching the internet with Photon." She whispered to Joel.

 

[ShindoL Shill]

"Uh... sure." the person replied, looking rather confused.

 

[Slenn]

"Did you have a TV suddenly turn on last night to a channel displaying a curious dating show? Do you know anything about it?"

 

[ShindoL Shill]

"I don't remember anything like that happening, sorry."

 

[Slenn]

EMily took a moment to cycle through the limited information given. "Thank you for your time." She said, nodding, and turned back to Joel.

"This is peculiar. If the message was only sent to the TV in the shop. If you were in there, it makes it sound like this message was meant for us and not anyone else. What do you think?"

[color=003399]"Well, there could be a bunch of reasons that the one person we've asked didn't see it. Let's ask some more people before jumping to conclusions."[/color] Joel replied.

 

[Slenn]

"Good idea. Large sample size." She said. "You ask another random person, and I'll ask another. Winona, you go ahead and try a person as well." She nodded. The two of them split away for a bit.

"Excuse me, could I ask you a question?" She asked another bystander.

Winona followed suit with a different person.
<color=green>"Umm excuse me? Could you answer a question for me?" Her tiny voice sounded.

Joel also went off to ask a random person the question. The three bystanders agreed to the request. Though he and EMily would get similar responses to the first, Winona would get a more helpful answer to the question.

"Is this something to do with that 'Midnight Channel' rumour?" the person asked Winona.

 

[Slenn]

<color=green>"Wait... what rumor? How many people do you know that this has happened to them?"

"There's this rumour that's been going around recently. Apparently, if you look into a switched off TV, at midnight, during heavy rain, you see your soul mate." the person explained. "A friend of mine said she saw a faint silhouette a couple of nights ago, but not a dating show or anything."
