We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

Sophia too had heard the cry of Yeul, swearing herself as she fumbled what she'd been holding prior. She eventually opened her door and peaked outside in her regular clothing, sucking on her thumb in a way like she'd jammed it somewhere. "What happened out here, was that Yeul?" She asked out loud to anyone around at the moment, not seeing anyone around her.

 

[Chungus]

"That was I. I was... distracted by something, which caused me to drop my cup of tea." Yeul explained, breaking eye contact for a moment before she said 'distracted'. Yeul paused for a moment, then looked back up to Samus' face. "I would speak to you of something, if you would wait for me while I change clothes?" She suggested.

Caius stood by, looking down to Yeul, with slightly slumped shoulders, but clenched fists. When Sophia called out, Caius looked to her direction, noticing her reluctance to leave the room, and her sucking on her thumb. Although he couldn't pick up on the constant smell of chocolate Sophia exuded, he did notice her change in behaviour, but hadn't bothered asking about it. This did not change now. "It was." He answered for Yeul. "There is no cause for alarm, however."

 

[Slenn]

Gwen was alerted to the scream as well, and fumbled with Graviton for a bit before dematerializing it. She paced herself towards Yuel's room. She stopped when she saw that Samus had gone into her room already.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

"Sure." Samus said to Yeul, nodding and dismissing her cannon.

 

[Chungus]

Yeul nodded to Samus, turning around and walking off towards the laundry room. Caius glanced to Gwen as she entered the hallway, but said nothing to her, figuring she could se for herself things were fine. He turned around also, and followed after Yeul. He no longer had his fists clenched, but his shoulder were still more slumped then they were usually.

Reaching the laundry room, Caius waited outside at the door, while Yeul entered. Seeing Victoria laying on the guilt however, she didn't take more then a single pace, then looked to see if Victoria was asleep.

"A-Alright." Sophia nodded, still sounding concerned yet somewhat relieved about hearing she was fine.

Samus waited for Yeul, leaning against the wall of the ship.

 

[Slenn]

Gwen leaned against the wall and waited patiently to see what would happen.

Hearing the sound of footsteps outside the door, Victoria's ears perked up. Seeing the door open, she lazily rolled into an upright sitting position.

"Hey."

She simply addressed Yeul, then covered her mouth with her right hand as she yawned.

 

[Chungus]

"Oh. Did I wake you?" Yeul asked as she saw Victoria moving into a sitting position. "My appolagies if I did." With Victoria now awake, Yeul moved to the tumble dryder, and opened it after a few tries, begining to take the clothes she wore originally out of the machine.

Joel had spent most of the week at the automail engineers' store. Though he was working as a general assistant, helping in the workshop and manning the counter, his primary role was helping the patients adjust to having automail limbs. During the course of the week, he had purchased a pair of gloves, mostly to protect his left hand from the elements, and the gaze of various citizens of Bristol.
When the rain halted, Joel's mood slowly began to improve, though the fact that a thick, almost ominous fog directly followed the rain, and persisted for a full day, didn't help much.

Over the course of the week, Joel's hair continued growing. As it grew, the grey streaks at his roots became more noticeable.

June 18th

Joel was sitting in the cargo bay, watching Hans work curiously. When Yeul cried out, he quickly looked in the direction the sound had came from. Joel stayed sitting, however, as both Samus and Sophia were investigating.

 

[Drakmorg]

"Nah, I wasn't sleeping. Don't worry about it."

Vicky casually replied to Yeul. She watched what Yeul was doing with half-interest, as there wasn't anything else in the room worth paying attention to.

 

[Chungus]

"I see. That is fortunate, then." Yeul commented, folding up her original clothing, then closing the door of the tumble dryer. "I would introduce myself, but now is not quite the time. I do have something to say, however. You may wish to listen." She added, then walked out of the laundry room, glancing around those that were gathered outside. "A moment ago, I had a vision of the imediate future, and I believe the events may be connected to the occurances of some amongst us entering the shadow world." She stated, knowing the vision she recieved could only be from the future, dispite what the calander - which she could not read, anyway - said.

Upon hearing Yeul proclaim what she did, Caius glanced down to her, an eyebrow raised. "Yeul, should you do this?" He interjected questioningly, looking down to Yeul.

Yeul in turn looked up to Caius and gave a single, small nod. "Yes. I will not tell overmuch." She stated, then looked back to those gathered in the hallway. "As I stated, I will not go into the details of what I saw, but I may set you on the correct path: You would do well to pay attention to what is shown on television. Look for that which does not belong." She stated, then paused, bowing her head slightly. "Now, excuse me."

After excusing herself, Yeul left to find a secluded spot to get changed in, Caius following after her.

Samus stiffened a bit when Yeul mentioned the TV world. She thought for a bit, nodding to her in thanks, then left the room.

Joel thought about what Yeul had said, before speaking. [color=003399]"I don't think this is to do with the Midnight Channel. It only shows up on rainy nights, and the forecast hasn't shown any rain in the near future."[/color] he pointed out.

Spoiler: XCOM HQ, the week that has passed

During the week no mission occurred, though the town the group currently resided in was kept under constant satellite surveillance. The research team managed to unlock the secrets of your armour vest, and swiftly moved on to the next project. This later project turned out to be scanning Phaesan's weapons and suit, and she was also questioned about her appearance in this world. Nothing conclusive could be drawn from the data, since they could not physically take apart Phaesan's suit due the atmosphere being maintained by it. As such, construction of an atmospheric chamber was started immediately, but it would take a week to make it.

You spend much time training while this is going on. At the end of the week, facing three recruits in hand-to-hand combat, you are able to read their weaves and slip through them. However, when all three are down on the mat and your focus wanes you nearly collapse of exhaustion. Encouraged by this improvement in skill, you decide to spend more time meditating in the future.

 

[Demonjazz]

Over the week people would have noticed a lot more of Eric's more jerkish tendencies. He often got into bragging arguments with Alain over which could take each other in a fight. Eric usually regretting that decision later, as he wasn't a great fighter by himself, and only had a stick for offense. He would whine about being bored for awhile before figuring out that phones had games on them... And then whining about it more afterwards due to all the games being boring. He also was quite angry whenever somebody messed up his armour that he polished quite often actually.

Eric overheard the conversation between Yuel and Samus"Why should we care about some world inside a TV?! If something so bad is going to happen, I say that we just stay away from TVs."

Seeing that Yeul was alright, Sophia closed the door and went back into her room, nursing the flesh cut on her thumb she was sucking. 'Damn it that hurt.' She winced a little as she looked at the implement that had harmed her, letting out a long sigh as she shook her head.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>Says the person who likes to eat junk food, and possibly in front of TV. She thought in regards to what Eric just said. <color=purple>"With all those channels to watch, I think I'd pass out before we would find anything. Regardless, it is possible that the Midnight Channel that Samus and Seras journeyed to can only be accessed during such a night. It might be a small part of this hint Yuel is referring to."

Alain stood up and entered the ship's cargo hold, approaching the others. "Still nothing going on, I'm guessing?"
